In the year 1999, we are reintroduced to Sokichi Narumi (Koji Kikkiwa) and some new characters. Sokichi in here has just left his hometown, Osaka for a job as a detective in Futo, leaving his wife and only daughter.In this pic, it seems that he is not wearing his signature whites... but still, he looks hard-boiled.
He is Matsu (Yamamoto Taro), Sokichi's partner and is Philip to Sokichi's case. His real name is Matsu Seichiro. He is the one responsible in making documents coming from various books to back up Sokichi's investigations.
Melissa (Yamamoto Hikaru who also plays Akiko) is a popular opera singer in Futo and it is possible that she is Sokichi's wife and Akiko's mother. A new 3D animation project of Shotaro Ishinomori's classic science fiction manga, Cyborg 009 will be sponsored by electronics maker, Panasonic. It would be directed by Mamoru Oshii and the anime studio, Production I.G. (Blood +, Idaten Jump) in-charge.
The Cyborg 009 official fan club on the Yahoo! website began presenting details about the project to fan club members on Tuesday. The high-definition anime short, which is four minutes and 45 seconds long, will be unveiled at the Panasonic booth at the CEATEC Japan 2010 trade show. The show will run at the Makuhari Messe event center in Chiba, Japan from October 5 to October 8. Oshii's frequent collaborator Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell, Death Note films) is composing the music for the 5.1ch surround soundtrack.

To those who are not familiar with the series, a secret organization called, Black Ghost kidnaps nine humans and turned them into cyborgs for them to serve the organization. But since this is an Ishinomori title, similar to Kamen Rider, these cyborgs defect the organization and fight against them. There are three anime series regarding the said title which was released respectively on: 1966, 1979 and 2001.
It was announced on the final episode of K-ON!! that a feature film is on the works. It was later on announced in their official website. Asami Sanada, who voices Sawako Sanada in the said series is surprised that there would be a feature film as stated in her Twitter account.

The all-girl Japanese band SCANDAL, had just released a new music video for their upcoming 8th major and 11th overall single, entitled Nanka Buttobase, that will be released this October. The single will be released in four versions: 3 CD+DVD Limited and 1 regular edition.

The sequel will be entitled Kodai Shoujotai Dogoon V (Ancient Girl Squad Dogoon 5). Actress Erika Yazawa will reprise her role as Dogu-chan and will joined by a new group of "dogoo girls."
Kodai Shojotai Dogoon V will introduce a new group of five female apprentice yokai hunters, clad in clay bikini. The members of the group are the "Doki Doki Wave"-shooting Doji-chan (Misaki Momose), the battler Doro-chan (Rina Takeda), the super-strong Doka-chan (Manami Nomoto), the nurse Dore-chan (Maria Yoshikawa), and the dreamer Dori-chan (Haruka Dan).
The cast of Kodai Shojotai Dogoon V includes Teruhiko Saigo and Shougo Suzuki (Chiaki/ShinkenGreen of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger). Similar to its predecessor, the modern-day monsters will be played by guest actors, including Sei Ashina, Yuko Ito, Kenji Otsuki, Megumi Kagurazaka, Ayumu Saito, and Momoko Tani.

The movie "Kamen Rider OOO & W feat. Skull: Movie Wars Core" was announced the 26th September in a metropolitan area. Koji Kikkawa, Renn Kiriyama, Masaki Suda along with 11 other people from the cast as well as the director, Ryuta Tasaki. The actor of Kamen Rider OOO's Eiji Hino, Shu Watanbe said "It's like a dream to co-star with them, it's definitely something worth to watch."
This film continues the previous story of Kamen Rider Skull. Koji Kikkawa said "The director told me, you are still in your prime 40's, you should be able to do this. So I accepted the role with my whole heart. "
The movie will be played out 10 years before episode one of the series, Kamen Rider W, as well as in the present time of Kamen Rider OOO. (See picture, the guy next to Koji is his partner) Taro said "I've been in the acting business for 19 years now, it's finally time for me to join the good looking Riders. When Taro was told that he was playing the partner, he said "We could make a spin off out of this."
In the film the brides and grooms, Minehiro Kinomoto (Ryu Terui, Kamen Rider Accel), Hikaru Yamamoto (Narumi Akiko), Shu Watanabe (Eiji Hino) and Riho Takada (Hina) will be appearing in tuxedos and dresses.
It's the first time Takada has worn a wedding dress, while smiling she said "I am really happy, I am always learning something new. It's really fun!" Hikaru on the other hand, said "I'll finally get married! It's only in the middle of the movie though."
Koji Kikkawa who plays Hikaru's father said "I don't even have a wife in real life, how am I supposed to be a father? Can someone teach me?"

After dozens of teasers from their official website, it is official, the title of the next Power Rangers season is called, Power Rangers Samurai. Adapted from last year's Super Sentai series, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, the show is about a new generation of Rangers, fighting the forces from the Netherworld. Azumanga Daioh: The Animation is an anime produced by JC Staff based by the four-panel comic strip of the same name by Kiyohiko Azuma that was serialized on Dengeki Daioh from 1999-2002. The series is about the daily lives of six Japanese schoolgirls during their three years in high school and in some point, the daily lives of their teachers.
The series is about the daily lives of six Japanese school girls in an unnamed high school in which we are introduced to Chiyo Mihama, a child prodigy and is five years younger than the other main cast. Then, we are introduced to the other girls. Sakaki, the big busted and silent one in the group who loves cats but cats hate her, Koyomi “Yomi” Mizuhara, who has an obsession in dieting while trying to maintain her composure because of her hyperactive best friend, Tomo Takino who thinks she is the best but it’s the complete opposite of it. To add up to this crazy bunch, we are introduced to Osaka, I mean, Ayumu Kasuga who is a transfer student from Osaka, spacey and had a different perspective of the world around her that in some point that she thought that Chiyo’s ponytails are unscrewable! And thanks to Tomo, she gain the nickname, Osaka and it stucked ever since. Oh, I forgot Kaorin, their classmate who has a crush on Sakaki and that’s all you need to know!
During the course of the series, we are introduced to their homeroom adviser and English teacher, Yukari Tanizaki and her friend, the more serious (By serious, I mean she is not as crazy like her friend) Minamo Kurosawa. We are also introduced to a pedophile Math teacher only known as Kimura-sensei (Or Sir Kimura if you watched the Filipino dub like me).
On their second year, because of Yukari-sensei’s obsession in winning their school sports fest, Kagura was added to her class. Kagura is once part of Kurosawa-sensei’s class and part of her swimming team, sporty and has a one-sided rivalry with Sakaki.
On to the Azumanga Daioh: The Animation review, even after countless reruns that I watched this series, I still have a hard time in making my final thought about the series but I will try my best to review this one.
Anyways, because of the rather weird title, Azumanga Daioh which turned out to be a play of the name of the author, Kiyohiko Azuma and the fact that it is a manga which was serialized in Dengeki Daioh, I am not sure is worthy to be watched. But because of some good advertising, I watch it and end up loving it!
The series is about the daily lives of six Japanese schoolgirls during the course of their high school education in Japan. Aside from the fact that we have a glimpse on the Japanese education system, the series wins with the good timing of their humor and where to insert the series’ recurring humor such as Osaka’s spacey attitude. The moe factor is a plus point in the series plus, having a pedophile math teacher adds up to the series’ humor.
Even if the show is humor filled, there are some parts of the series that they insert some drama, and saw the other side of our crazy characters. A perfect example is the last episode in which Kagura had a conversation with one of her teachers (Its Yukari or Kurosawa I forgot.) about bringing a desk to her home as a remembrance in her high school years.
Because this series chronicles the daily lives of schoolgirls, there are some recurring episodes and from those recurring episodes, the episode that I always look forward too is the episodes in which they will stay in Chiyo’s rest house beside the beach. This is where I saw the evolution of the characters… if they had a character development or saw if their static-ness as characters has reached new heights… like Osaka!
Speaking of which, I want to talk about one of series’ weirdest and spaciest (If that term exist) character, Osaka. There are some instances that she carries the entire series at her back making her one of the most recognizable characters in the series. Due to her spacey attitude, you don’t know what is the next thing she will do! During their last visit in Chiyo’s rest house, we saw Osaka carry a knife and she just want to wake up Yukari-sensei!
Aside from the daily lives of the students, we also took a glimpse of the daily lives of their teachers. The fun thing about this series is that they broke the gap between student-teacher relationships. Their teachers are too close with their students that they even go to the annual rest house trips and even provide transportation to the girls! To top it all of, there is one episode in which Kurosawa-sensei got drunk and started teaching the girls about “the birds and the bees” and obviously, Chiyo doesn’t understand due to her age!
Because of its focus, we also saw the growth of the friendship of various characters, from Chiyo accepted in their class aside from the fact that she is cute until their various conversations about random topics. My only problem with the series about this part is that there is no episode in which Yomi was totally fed up with Tomo. By totally, Yomi never spoke to Tomo in the entire episode or caused Tomo to change her character. Yes, we saw her change in the series… well just her hairstyle. That’s it.
Overall, Azumanga Daioh: The Animation is one of the series you might consider an epitome of its genre; you might even say that this series is a classic. Considering that its humor is properly timed and they know where they will insert a recurring joke or when we will saw them saw their other side as characters. At the end of this review, Kimura-sensei being a pedophile with a cute daughter and a beautiful wife still bothers me.

After the success of SCANDAL's 2nd album, Temptation Box, the all-girl band will be releasing their 8th major and 11th overall single entitled Nanka Buttobase this coming October. The single will be released in four versions: 3 CD+DVD Limited and 1 regular edition.
SCANDAL's Nanka Buttobase is their first single to have four different versions. Each Limited DVDs contains the full version of one of the band's performances on their television show Shiteki Ongaku Jijou. The DVD will only include one (yes, only one) of the following performances: Shunkan Sentimental [A], Taiyou to Kimi ga Egaku STORY [B] and Namida no Regret [C].
So far, only the Nanka Buttobase title track and its instrumental version is confirmed to be included on the single. The B-Side track/s is yet to be announced.
SCANDAL's Nanka Buttobase will be released on October 6, 2010. Play-Asia had already opened their pre-orders for all versions of the single: SCANDAL - Nanka Buttobase [CD] at Y470, SCANDAL - Nanka Buttobase [Limited Edition Type A], SCANDAL - Nanka Buttobase [Limited Edition Type B], and SCANDAL - Nanka Buttobase [Limited Edition Type C] at Y1030.
And to very much to my surprise, SCANDAL has already plans on releasing a new single this upcoming November 17. No confirmed title as of now.
Hiro Mizushima (BECK, Kamen Rider Kabuto, Tokyo Dogs, Gokusen 2), has left his talent agency, Ken-on on September 20 to focus on his writing career. The said actor, apparently is interested on writing according to our sources from Tokyo Graph. After discussing this on the management, his departure was then decided.As a fan of one of Hiro Mizushima's roles, Souji Tendou, it would be fun if he would create a character similar to Tendou... or someone who quotes something from his grandma!

Another type of game has a more strategic nature to it, and is one of the few quality turn based games out there. Battalion: Ghosts is the second in the series, allowing you to play as the Akadian forces, trying to crush the northern federation’s advances. The aim of the game is to destroy all enemy forces on each level, by using the units you have been given (including the mighty war machine, capable of creating new units). Ten missions to play through, however each mission has a couple of hours of strategy in it.

To very much of my surprise, SH FiguArts Kamen Rider OOO TaToBa Combo comes with a fully colored figure (at least in the prototype images). Even the OOODriver is fully colored with red (Taka), yellow (Tora), and green (Batta) medals, same goes with the lining on the belt, the Medal Scanner, and Medajalibur, OOO's sword, to make it show-accurate.
SH FiguArts Kamen Rider OOO TaToBa Combo also includes foldable and movable Tora Claws. The claws can be folded and extended to imitate various actions and poses made by Kamen Rider OOO in the show.
SH FiguArts Kamen Rider OOO TaToBa Combo costs Y3000, about US$35, and will be released on February 2011, so expect to see some more changes until the final product is released.
The climax still continues with the upcoming release of Kamen Rider Den-O's Imagin Anime OVA 3. The anime shorts will feature SD anime versions of the Imagins in 12 episodes of various skits and situations.Imagin Anime OVA 3 stars Kamen Rider Den-O mainstay Imagins: Momotaros, Urataros, Kintaros, Ryuutaros, Sieg and Deneb. Teddy, Eve, and the suit actors for the Imagin is also said to make an appearance during the course of the anime.
The gang will have a special guest during their final short. And guess what, it's Ultraman Taro. He will be shown in the episode called Ultraman Taros. The story on why Taro is there is still not revealed, unless they got him because of his name... LOL!

Last week, we were surprised when we found out about the leaked Pokemon live action movie trailer. And after a week of debate and waiting, we finally knew the story behind Pokemon Apokelypse.
Pokemon Apokelypse is the title of the Pokemon live action movie. It is characterized by having a mature, dark and gritty content. A very different nature on the Pokemon anime series that we all used to love. And take note, this a FANFILM.Pokemon Apokelypse Synopsis:

Even with that said, the men behind the Pokemon Apokelypse fan film doesn't hint if there are plans on showing the full movie or when will this happen. Honestly, I do hope that they will show it full, even if it's just on some online streaming site, similar to what happened to the Megaman fan film.

Hidden Object Games have always fascinated people and particularly games like the Dark Tales which have a mysterious element to them are always liked by children. In Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's The Black Cat, as a detective, you need to track down the lost wife of Mark Davies, along with your colleague Dublin.
Mark Davies claims that his wife Sara has not been home since a few days. While enquiring you get to know that Sara was seen at the estate ground along with a black cat. The Estate ground is really huge with many doors and ways. Different parts of the estate have different interests and you will have to keep each part in mind so that, when you require the clue on a later stage, you can use it easily. The black cat is a very important character in this game and it adds a mysterious element to the game, at the same time the cat will help you solve the case.
In Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's The Black Cat, Davies seems to be least interested in helping you out find his wife. Instead it’s the black cat that will guide you through the entire game. Being a detective you will search the house of Davies firstly to find some clues. You will find that almost everything in the house is locked and you will have to open it by solving a puzzle. You will have to be extra careful while finding objects that will help you unlock further objects. One can easily miss out a box or a door if no proper attention is given.
Apart from finding hidden objects in the house you will also have to roam around the estate and find various other clues for yourself. Like all other mystery hidden object games, it can get frustrating sometimes when you fail to find some clue. In that case you can always look for a hint and will be amazed to know that the object you were looking for was lying nearby. Do watch out for the cursor change in case an object can be moved. Some of the puzzles that have been included in the game are really fascinating and require some thinking on your part. If you get stuck or do not like a puzzle then you can always proceed to find Sara by skipping the puzzle.
Thus this game is a mix and match of adventure and brain teasing at the same time. Sometimes you might be overloaded with puzzles and will find there is a door after very few steps which might take away the mysterious element of the game because you cannot explore freely. But the game has decent enough backgrounds, objects and graphics. The Black Cat Collector version of the Dark Tales can be downloaded for free from the internet. So just download this game and set yourself on a ride with the black cat in the Dark Tales - Edgar Allan Poe’s The Black Cat version and I am sure you will enjoy it.
