Here's the latest promo of the upcoming Movie Wars film, Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider OOO & W feat. Skull: Movie Wars Core. In this latest teaser, we have the glimpse of Kamen Rider Core.
This is the start of the JEFusion Cinema Week in which for seven days, we will post a movie review for your entertainment. Will this be annually? It depends if the first one will be well received but to kick things off, we will start with Battle Royale!
Battle Royale is a film based on the novel with the same name written by Koshun Takumi and was distributed by Toei and was directed by Kinji Fukasaku. Because of its content, it aroused controversy in Japan. The film is about a law passed that forces students to kill each other until one of them survives.
The film opens with this: "At the dawn of the millennium, the nation collapsed. At fifteen percent unemployment, ten million were out of work. 800,000 students boycotted school. The adults lost confidence and, fearing the youth, eventually passed the Millennium Educational Reform Act, AKA the BR Act...."
Thinking that they are just going to a regular school trip, Shuya Nanahara and his classmates were gassed and kidnapped by the government and were thrown in an uninhabited island and was lectured about the said act.
Two of their classmates were killed by their former teacher, Kitano while he is lecturing and one of those was his best friend, Nobu. After being lectured about the said act, they got their provisions and their weapons (It depends on your luck, you might get an axe or even as crappy as a binoculars) and set of to venture the island for them to survive. If there is no declared winner after three days, the collars that were attached to the students will self detonate.
After Nobu died, he protects Noriko Nakagawa in his place from those people who are trying to kill them in this “game.” Some of the students who didn’t played the game often stayed in groups while others remained alone and played the game. One of those is Mitsuko who uses her wits to win this game and the mysterious transfer student, Kiriyama who volunteered to join the said program just for fun.
As they try to survive, they met a previous winner of the Battle Royale, Kawada whose purpose for his return in the island to find the reason of her girlfriend’s last message for him when she died. Can Shuya and Noriko survive in this wretched island? Can they figure a way of getting out of it without killing each other? That is for you to find out.
On to the Battle Royale movie review, I heard about this film a few years back because of its theme and it is said to be the basis on some elements in Kamen Rider Ryuki. No wonder, because both materials where related to Toei! Heck, Kamen Rider Ryuki has a character that is similar to Kiriyama in the form of Asakura aka Kamen Rider Ouja!
Anyways, about the film, it was set on an alternate timeline based on the quick Wikipedia check that I have on the series. While watching the film, I have this feeling as if this material kinda reminisced the second half of the book, The Lord of the Flies. In which, we have a bunch of kids trying to survive in an island, and some of them, started to act barbaric and in some point, killed Piggy, one of the characters and the voice of reason in the book.
Unlike The Lord of the Flies, they were forced to stay in an island to kill each other, for the teens to grow into adults. In my opinion, I find barbaric and stupid, seriously, what’s with that?!
The main theme about this film is survival. Will you get into the game for you to survive or give up into life and die on the third day? Some of the students get into the game while some; think of ways to survive in the island without killing anyone. This is the issue of moral decay and the death of innocence comes in.
Here’s the situation in the island. You only have three days in the island or else you will day via the detonation of the collar or be killed by someone. What will you do? Kill before you get killed? Or hide and try to protect yourself? Will you trust your best friend or your companion? These questions might bother the person while he or she is on the BR Program, and might cause mental breakdown for the sane human being who hasn’t faced this kind of situation.
This is where the issue of trust comes in. Will you trust someone for you to survive? Or will you backstab your friend for you to survive? These questions were answered in Kawada’s flashback scene in which in the last few seconds before their collar explodes, he killed her girlfriend, Keiko for him to survive.
Also, this is were the human psychology comes in. Events in the past might trigger a certain personality when he or she is placed in a hostile environment. While watching Mitsuko’s character, I know that there is something in her past that makes her act that way, and I was right. In her final moments, she tells that she will not lose in this game, giving me an impression that there is a person who wants her to succeed but she keeps on failing.
Speaking of human psychology, we have a psycho in the form of Kiriyama. He volunteered in the Battle Royale just for fun. With this sense, we saw him kill various students, get their weapons and kill more students, making him one of the characters you must kill first for you to survive. And like Kamen Rider Ryuki’s Asakura, he never won in the Battle Royale.
On to Shuya, he, along with Noriko I haven’t seen much change before and after the program. The only change I saw is that Shuya decides to move forward and use his experience to possibly, survive in the world he is in right now considering that they are labeled fugitives.
About the film, the film was fantastic. The physics of the blood splatter was brilliant but because of the rating it has, it never went to the extreme like cult classic, Friday the 13th or those Hollywood splatter films that never made much sense to me after enjoying much of the gore. The music adds up to the tension being built up in the film that I would love to download or if there is a way, to buy the soundtrack of the film.
The best thing about this film is the plot twist in various scenes. This is the issue of trust comes running around the entire film. Whom will you trust in this mad island? Will she betray you at the end? Those issues come running around this entire film.
Overall, Battle Royale movie is one of the best suspense-horror films that I watched in recent years. It was so good that you might think a sequel or sequels might ruin the epic feeling this film gave me. That is when I heard that there is a BR II, I knew I will not watch it because, like most horror sequels that I know, it would never lived up to the feel that the original gave to the viewers.
Since it was first a novel, if I will see this book being bargained somewhere, someone is willing to sell it, or a copy of this book is available in digital format, I might as well read it.

Wind Wave's (Kamen Rider W's fictional radio station) DJ HurryKenn has posted on his Twitter account that they are gathering various girls with motifs from various Kamen Rider shows and turn it into an idol group (Kinda like AKB48) called Kamen Rider GIRLS!
Aside from singing, they will also dance, and occasionally, fight. A CD is planned to be released.
Source: CSToys Blog
Author's note: Now, I am starting to wonder, what happened to Rider Chips, the rock band responsible in making various theme songs in Kamen Rider shows? The last time I heard them was in Kamen Rider Kabuto...
About the idea, it reminded me of the Queen and Elizabeth unit back in Kamen Rider W and the duet by the girls in Kamen Rider Kiva. Hope this would be a blast!

According to reports, AKB48's 18th single Beginner, will have an initial shipment of 1.03 million copies for its release last October 27. Although not likely, this gives it the opportunity to sell one million copies in its first week!
AKB48's 18th single Beginner has sprung a lot of attention because of its controversial music video directed by Tetsuya Nakashima (Kokuhaku, Kamikaze Girls). The music video had to be edited for television due to censorship because of its violent theme. As a result, the original version of the PV will only be available through the mobile downloads via Recochoku.
Due to their rising popularity, AKB48's sales have been very strong this year. Their last two singles consecutively sold more than half a million copies in the first week alone. This makes them only the third female artist to achieve that. On the top lists are Hikaru Utada and Ayumi Hamasaki.
According to the PR office of music store Tower Records, early sales indicators are positive. The company said that reservations for AKB48's Beginner single surpassed the girl group's previous single Heavy Rotation, even though the pre-order period was shorter this time.

UPDATE: AKB48's Beginner sets first-day single sales record of 568,000 copies sold on Wed, October 27, 2010 (11:33am EDT)

Here is the latest update on the upcoming Kamen Rider Climax Heroes OOO video game for the Playstation Portable and Nintendo Wii. Two of Kamen Rider OOO's full combos: GataKiriBa, and RaToraTa are confirmed to be included!
Besides this, Kamen Rider OOO can also use the following medals to make different combos: Taka, Lion, Kuwagata, Kamakiri, Batta, Tora. and Cheetah. This basically confirms that he can access 12 forms within the battle. Most likely, Kamen Rider OOO SaGoZo might not be available in Kamen Rider Climax Heroes OOO.

Another game mode is confirmed, the Kamen Rider Climax Heroes OOO: Ragnarok Mode. It is similar to the original's Decade Mode, wherein you start either Kamen Rider W or OOO as your primary players. It seems you probably need to unlock the other Kamen Rider to use in this mode by playing through these missions. Masquerade Dopant is confirmed (through the text in the scan) as one of the weakling enemies you fight in Ragnarok along with Gelnewt and Worm (base).
Two new features are also added in Kamen Rider Climax Heroes OOO: the Climax Time and Final Reflect. Climax Time occurs when either one of the players health becomes low. Both players gauges will fill up and the BGM will change. The Final Reflect, on the other hand, is one of those 'mash the button the most to win' things. This is the thing you see in the Kamen Rider Climax Heroes PV when Super Climax and Kiva charge at each other.

Kamen Rider Climax Heroes OOO was intended to be released on November 25. But due to unforeseen and unknown reasons, it moved to be released on December 2. The game will be available on the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo Wii.

Out of boredom, I decided to write a 150-word review of the most “loved” US anime adaptations of all time that fans want to “remember” it so dearly, and that is: Dragonball Evolution.
Note: Some parts of the introduction are sarcasm.
The film sucks. Want me to expand it? First, Goku is a teenager, second, he is not innocent and his innocence is one of the driving forces in the original manga and anime! I mean, if you watched or read DragonBall Z, Bulma and co. were surprised that he had a child! I mean, he has no brief idea on how to do it!
Second, it is not faithful to the original source and my personal favorite, the humor is watered down. The only good thing about it is that Roshi is still Roshi… and that’s it. Oh, did I mention that the Namek race was mentioned earlier compared to its source in which it was mentioned sometime in DBZ and not in DB!
Overall Dragonball Evolution Movie review, skip it, and if you bought the copy, burn it. But hey, at least the effects were decent… and Kamehameha being related to Airbending!

![[MV] Bari Bari Saikyou No. 1 - Feel So Bad](http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5k8oCN0qdL8/TMPqwXwAepI/AAAAAAAACVg/J8xFWeAq1F4/s400/nube.jpg)
This week's music video is the opening theme of the 90's supernatural anime Jigoku Sensei Nube (Hell Teacher Nube). The song is entitled Bari Bari Saikyou No. 1 (Rippin' Roarin' Almighty No. 1) by the Jrock band FEEL SO BAD.
As much as I love to embed the Bari Bari Saikyou No. 1 music video here at the blog, I can't since the official video doesn't allow external site embedding. So in the mean time, I'll just embed the subbed opening video. You can watch the official music video here (which in my opinion really looks weird).

We have reported before about Ultraman Zero's two new forms in Ultraman Zero The Movie: Super Decisive Battle! Belial's Galactic Empire. And now, we got an update on one of these forms, the Ultraman Zero Ultimate form or better known as Ultimate Zero.
Ultraman Zero is said to be in a pinch in his battle against Kaiser Belial and will nearly be defeated until they encountered the Stone of Baraj, which gave him enough strength to defeat the Galactic Empire. The Stone of Baraj seems to be a powerful treasure from Planet Esmaralda that Kaiser Belial and his Galactic Empire seeks.
In Ultimate Zero, Ultraman Zero is given an armor and sword, which also doubles (what it seems to me) as a sword and shield to be used as a finisher. The form also rumored to enhance almost every single aspect of his abilities like speed, attacks and time span for the color timer limits. There's still no info regarding Ultraman Zero's other form, the one with a star in the center whom we initially called Ultraman Zero Super Form.
Ultraman Zero The Movie: Super Decisive Battle! Belial's Galactic Empire is a sequel to the Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legend Movie and will be shown in Japanese theaters on December 23, 2010.

Good story, ending good have not stopped this duo. Ready or not, our two-in-one Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider W, will be back to give us more hard-boiled adventures. Well, sort-off...
It is currently rumored that Kamen Rider W will be back on a two-part V-Cinema, a direct-to-DVD movie special. First part will feature Kamen Rider Accel who faces a crisis and fought a Dopant using his new form. And the second part will be a story about Daido Katsumi (Kamen Rider Eternal) and how he formed NEVER.
As of now, nothing is confirmed. But according to DecaEnd, there are high chances that the Kamen Rider W V-Cinema will be true since he got the rumor from the same guy who posted rumors about Maki Kiyoto in Kamen Rider OOO and OOO SaGoZo's ability which were later confirmed.
Note: Please do take this as a grain of salt.

It's the time of the year again for another Super Sentai team-up movie. And this time, it's going to be Tensou Sentai Goseiger vs Shinkenger: Epic on the Silver Screen that will be shown this January 2011.

Similar to all Super Sentai VS movies, the movie took place after the events of the previous series, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, and in the middle of the current series, Tensou Sentai Goseiger. Since the Yuumaju will be one of the movie's villains, this could be a little before or just after the Gosei Angels defeat the Yuumaju, and just before the Matrintis showed up.
In Tensou Sentai Goseiger vs Shinkenger: Epic on the Silver Screen, an evil ShinkenRed will appear, which will be called NiseShinkenRed (nise - fake, imitation). It will be revealed that the Gedoushu's remaining member, Hone no Shitari, is the one who created it. It's unconfirmed if it's Shiba Takeru or some other guy playing as him.The head of the Gedoushu, Chimatsuri Dokoku, and two Buredorans (Suisei and Chupacabra), are also said to appear in Tensou Sentai Goseiger vs Shinkenger: Epic on the Silver Screen. How that happened? That's for us to find out.
One of the things to watch out on Tensou Sentai Goseiger vs Shinkenger: Epic on the Silver Screen film is the team-up battle against the Yuumaju and the Gedoushu. The Gosei Angels are in Super Goseiger mode along with GoseiKnight, and the our samurai heroes have manage to use Super Shinkenger at the same time while Takeru is in Hyper ShinkenRed.

And similar to what happened in Samurai Sentai Shinkenger vs Go-Onger: Silver Screen BANG!!! wherein the Goseigers made their first appearance, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger will also make their first appearance in Tensou Sentai Goseiger vs Shinkenger: Epic on the Silver Screen movie.
Tensou Sentai Goseiger vs Shinkenger: Epic on the Silver Screen will be shown in Japanese theaters on January 22, 2011.

Two of the most awaited Kamen Riders was revealed recently from magazine scans. They are Kamen Rider Birth and Kamen Rider Core that will be first seen on Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider OOO & W feat. Skull Movie Wars CORE film.
Kamen Rider Birth is the rumored 2nd Rider for the Kamen Rider OOO tv series. And very much as the rumors says, Birth will be a tech-based Rider (like G3X and IXA) and will be using a gun as his primary weapon.

Meanwhile, the above scan is the first image of Kamen Rider Core, the main villain in the Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider OOO & W feat. Skull Movie Wars CORE film. And due to it's size, it is indeed made from pure CGI (computer generated images). According to rumors, Core can utilize the powers of the Showa Era Kamen Riders. And basically, he looked like Kamen Rider Ichigo on fire!
It is said that Kamen Rider Birth will make an appearance in the end of Movie Wars CORE film like what Kamen Rider Accel did back in 2009. The actor that will play him is not yet revealed. And most likely, will show-up in the same manner as Ryu did in Kamen Rider W.

Halloween is just around the corner and the timing is quite perfect for the release of new scans of the upcoming Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider OOO & W feat. Skull Movie Wars CORE film! It seems like we have more love for Kamen Rider Skull's story and images for Kamen Rider OOO's Nobunaga plot! On top is the first Dopants the terrorized Futo, Spider and Bat.
Eren Komori (Reon Kadena), a Gaia Memory Dealer is the identity of the Bat Dopant (on top).
Since she is the Bat Dopant, I bet that she will insert her Memory on her neck [GekiDan: But it's on her shoulder...] . You know, vampires and all. Now, the question remains, who is the Spider Dopant?
Kamen Rider Skull's first transformation is not complete. This form is called Skull Crystal. Accordingly, in the said film its hidden powers will be revealed.Wait. Crystal Skull?! Based on what I remembered, it is related to some Incan mumbo-jumbo that was seen in an Indiana Jones film [GekiDan: I was about to say that!]. Aside from that, Kamen Rider Skull having hidden powers is kinda a shout out to the original Skull Man that has psychic powers.
A young Shroud shows up in the basement of the Narumi Agency. It'll be a story about the childhood friends, Narumi and Shroud. Both seems to be planning on creating a machine that could help defeat the Dopants, the RevolGarry.
Shroud used to fight Dopants
with the Shroud Magnum and the Bomb Memory.
with the Shroud Magnum and the Bomb Memory.
On the present, Kamen Rider W HeatJoker fights the Ptera Yummy.
Wait... Akiko carrying Ryu Terui's Accel Driver?! Will we ever see Akiko henshin into Kamen Rider Accel (aside from the rumor that she will transform into Kamen Rider Skull)?! I never heard about this! (Source: 145zzz)
Kougami Foundation's research facility finds the mummy of Oda Nobunaga and creates a homunculus out of it. A jelly like substance appears and disappears with many Cell Medals.
While OOO was fighting the Greeeds, he happened to save a young man. This young man was the escaped Nobunaga. Eiji decides to call him Nobu.
Nobunaga follows Eiji around, even when he's working for an IT company. They were called in to fix a problem with the computers.
The Female Petra Yummy (on the left) was created from the Yoshino's words, "Dance more!" Yoroi Musha Kaijin (Incomplete form, on the center, complete on the right) Has great control over swords and other weapons. If you look carefully you can see crab, lobster and scorpion themes in him. Could this monster be the source of the second Rider's powers?
And in the final battle of Movie Wars CORE, Kamen Rider W CycloneJoker Xtreme and Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba Combo faces a huge foe. Could this be Kamen Rider Core!? Another rumor states that OOO's TaJaDoru form will debut during this fight.

The popular shojo manga by Natsuki Takaya, Fruits Basket, is set to be adapted in Hollywood by producer, Joshua Long of 1212 Entertainment, who is known for his involvement in the live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop that stars, Keanu Reeves.
There is not much information about the upcoming film, according to our source, but accordingly, one of the officials from ULTIMO SPALPEEN shared some additional information on Twitter.
I quote, “The Fruit Basket movie is planned to be more realistic than the manga/anime version. So the scenes where Toru sleeping in the tent in volume 1 will not be used in the movie scene.”
Writer's note: Considering that Cowboy Bebop is partly delayed right now, I guess we will see this film once Bebop will be released.

Highschool of the Dead is a twelve-episode anime that was produced by Madhouse (Tenjo Tenge, Death Note) which was based on the manga written by Daisuke Sato and illustrated by Shoji Sato of the same name. It is about a bunch of students and their school nurse stuck in a zombie apocalypse in modern Japan.
It was an ordinary day in an ordinary high school when Takashi Komuro noticed something on the gate that bit one of the school employees. After being bitten and died, he became a zombie and started attacking his fellow employees.
Takashi knew that something is not right. Because a horde of zombies attacked their school, Takashi along with Rei Miyamoto and her boyfriend, Hisashi tried to look for cover and escaped the zombies that ended up Hisashi being bitten by one of “them” and later on, transformed into “them” that caused Takashi to kill him.
While trying to escape at their school, fellow students in the likes of Kohta Hirano
After a couple of episodes, we met Alice, whose father was killed in front of her because they can't accommodate her and her father in their refuge. She supports the group in her own way along the stray dog that they called, Zeke.
As the series progressed, we saw certain changes on some of the characters as they tried to survive in this zombie apocalypse. We saw some of them unveil their true selves, while some of them discovered more about themselves while some, remained constant while trying to survive and later, found refuge in this zombie apocalypse.
The series ends with their last refuge, the Takagi estate being attacked by zombies and our heroes has just escaped from another zombie attack in which later, ended up discovering a shopping mall, hinting that this series is only just the beginning of their true adventure.
On to the Highschool of the Dead anime review, one of the reasons that I don’t watch zombie flicks is the following: they all have the same plot. To those who are not familiar with the plot, here it goes. A bunch of adults learned a pandemic that caused the victims to turn into zombies and so, the surviving adults tried their best to survive in this zombie-filled world by using various weapons found in various areas. It would end up with an open ending that have all viewers think on how it will end.
The reason I got interested in HOTD aside from the amounts of service (Admit it, you watched HOTD because of the boo… never mind [GekiDan: IT'S ECCHI!!!]), is that the series used a different set of characters, in a form of adolescence with running hormones who are just undergoing the age of acne along with their air headed school nurse! What makes it interesting is that teenagers are those characters you would love to mold because they are a group who is still growing in a stage of raging hormones. Since this is a zombie apocalypse, we are talking about and if we put on an equation, we will have this: teens + raging hormones + zombies + fanservice = something interesting.
Since the series has a recurring zombie plot, I will skip my comments on that since you already have the idea about my thoughts on it. On to the character growth of the characters, first is the main man of this series, Takashi Komuro. He was at first, inexperienced that he relied too much on his skills in smashing the zombies with his might and he tends to be brash in some situations. He was clearly not the leader type character but as we saw the various turn of the events that happened in their city, he grew up into one. Aside from that, we saw his development from a mild mannered high school student who doesn’t care much into a boy who enjoys killing zombies and in my personal opinion, finds it later more as something fun rather than a task for them to survive.
Rei was one character that you might hate due to her personality. After Hisashi died, her feelings for Komuro returned that in later parts of the series, she is willing to give everything to him even if she will love another girl. She, in regular human standards, you might consider a bitch and one of the characters I am not rooting for. She was a character who wants to act like a damsel in distress even if she is not really a damsel in distress.
Saeko is one of my favorite characters. The reason that I liked her aside from her calm personality is the fact that from the main cast, she is one of the characters that never changed after the zombie apocalypse started. Heck, it even unleashed her true self!
Kohta to start with is a gun otaku who is now living in wonderland because he can now use his interest and skills in using guns in this zombie-filled environment. One of the reasons why I like this guy is his facial expressions while seeing different types of guns or when he is faced in various situations.
Takagi is clearly the only static character in the series. She stayed calmed when the zombies attack, she is clearly one of the few characters that thinks before she leaps into action. Because of this, they were able to leave the school safely.
Since I never saw any significant change in Shizuka and Alice, I will skip them.
One of the things that I liked about the series is the decay of morality. This is one of the questions the struck me while watching this series. If we are in a very hostile environment with the undead wanting to kill, you and you have the knowledge that they were just victims of a pandemic, will you kill them for your survival, or try your best to escape from them even if you know that wherever you go, you will still see the sight of them. This is what we saw in the teens in this series, and this is what the adults in the Takagi estate debated along if there is possible cure with this pandemic.
As for the animation, Madhouse, once again, did it. The blood splatter coming from the zombies is nice and the physics in the shots are realistic. Heck, the service scenes are nicely animated especially a certain service scene in which Takashi uses Rei’s… chest in using a heavy gun!
I have read some chapters of the original manga, and all I can say is, they tried there best to stay true with the source material that they ended the series for twelve episodes so that the source material can have some time to give them more material if there are any plans for a sequel.
Overall, Highschool of the Dead anime is one zombie title that you might have mixed feelings with. Along with the recurring basic zombie plot, the only thing that drives the series around, aside from the amounts of service for the male fans (He, he) is the fact that we have a different age group facing the zombies. If you are into blood splatter, this series has tons of those. If you are into fanservice, this series has loads of that. Other than that, you might skip this title if you find zombies not interesting. But if you are one of the minorities who can’t stand another vampire flick or series, you might as well give this series a shot.
