Choujuu Sentai Liveman Philippine Adaptation!

World renowned Filipino cosplayer, Alodia Gosiengfiao recently announced on her official fanpage that she will quit cosplay because she wants to continue studying for "school" even if she graduated years ago! But one rumor had surfaced that she will enter a different school, called the Academia Island.

To those who are familiar with this school, you might have watched the 12th entry of the Super Sentai franchise, Choujuu Sentai Liveman! It is rumored that she will play the role of Megumi Misaki aka Blue Dolphin which will be called Meg Morata in the adaptation. Along with Alodia, Vhong Navarro is rumored to play Yusuke Amamiya aka Red Falcon and Zanjoe Marudo is rumored to play Joh Ohara aka Yellow Lion.

Choujuu Sentai Liveman Philippine Adaptation!
Three students from Academia Island - an elite school funded by the U.N. for the purpose of researching space flight - are tempted by the promises of power from the evil Great Professor Bias. They kill two of their classmates in cold blood and flee.

Two years later they return as officers of an evil organization called Volt - having changed their bodies, minds and names- and destroy Academia. Three of their former classmates use cutting-edge power suits originally designed as a new form of space suit to fight against Volt as Liveman.

It is said that this series will be released within the third quarter of the year to revitalized the tokusatsu boom that happened during the 80's and early 90's. The question is, will it work considering that most Pinoy tokusatsu fans have mixed feelings with Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan (Zaido: Space Police)?

Another question arises: from all the eight Super Sentai shows that aired in the Philippines (namely, Goranger/Star Rangers, JAKQ, Google V, Bioman, Maskman, Turboranger, Fiveman and Jetman), why adapt Liveman? I guess they do not want to attract the nostalgia crowd!

    80's revival? YA RIGHT!

That is the same thing they said about that piece of trash Zaido. They said that they wanted to bring it back for nostalgia. But it turned out no on in the production of the show actually had nostalgia! They just wanted to jump the Toku train. same thing here. Alodia is quitting cosplaying for this trash.

    I am embarrassed.

Alodia isn't even quitting cosplay anyways; she posted an April Fools video about it... dressed as Haruhi Suzumiya, claiming that's where the school reference came from.

    No more bullshit remakes please!!

  7. Anonymous Says:

who started this rumor? She didn't even mention the name of the school...

Note: ABS-CBN has the capability to create a sentai revival - given that they'll pour the same effort they gave on Rounin, which I believe is a show we must be proud of with its effects, fight choreo and plot.

Anyway, we've been April-Fooled by Alodia, so heck. xD

    ALODIA GOSIENGFIAO SCREWED US ALL!!

If this is true, then why liveman? That series was never aired in the Philippines.... But I wouldn't judge ABS-CBN yet, they have a competent creative team of writers to write a good episode (even though they have a habit of making some plot lines very confusing to the viewers very evident in some of their soap operas) I think i'll follow this news if this will push through....

Considering I saw (which I have) Alodia's animax spot, I wouldn't close the possibility that ABS-CBN might be brewing a sentai type show. Thus, why bring up the names of Vhong and Zanjoe in? Alodia fooled us on her "quitting" to do cosplay, not about the the rumored sentai show.... I'll definitely follow any updates on this news....
