Aside from releasing last March 10th the PSP game, Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan Saisen, it was just revealed on the June issue of Jump Square that a new Rurouni Kenshin anime series is on the works!
The magazine never mentioned if the studio who will animate the new Rurouni Kenshin anime will imitate what BONES did with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood years ago, in which they reanimate everything and removed the filler arcs and stick closer to the manga. Hopefully, they will cover the Jinchuu Arc which was briefly seen in the 2nd OVA Series, Reflection!
The magazine also mentions that the BluRay release of the two Rurouni Kenshin OVAs, namely Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal and Samurai X: Reflection along with the feature film will ship between August 24 and October 26. A compilation CD will ship on July 27.
Rurouni Kenshin anime celebrates its 15th Anniversary this year which first aired on January 10th, 1996 and ran for a total of 95 episodes.

EPIC NEWS!
[Technically battousai isn't back, since Kenshin took care of that. ;)]
If this is a third season covering the Jinchuu arc like it should, then best news ever!
jinchuu arc as in the arc of enishi?
Hopefully, the anime gets a proper ending this time around. The manga was so much better than the anime.
I wrote about Saitou Hajime and his awesomeness. You can read it at:

I do think this might be a reboot of the whole series and then ending with the Jinchuu arc. In any case, let's see what happens!
