It has been announced that the sequel to BONES's hit anime Eureka Seven that will premier this April 2012, is in the works. It will be entitled Eureka Seven Astral Ocean or alternatively, Eureka Seven AO.
The "real mecha epic" will center around a boy named Ao who "set 'destiny' in motion again when he held the 'power.'" Artist Yūichi Katō is drawing the manga based on the 2005-2006 Eureka Seven anime series by BONES.
Prior to the anime, Eureka Seven AO manga will launch in the next issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine on January 26.

Glad to hear about the sequel to one of my favorite animes. Wonder if the new character is the son to Renton and Eureka.

F yes, they leave us with a cliff hanger, & now they are going to finish it! I truely believe the new main character is Eureka's & Renton's son, & I think the Nirvash is coming back, but a bit different with green & white.
if this is geting a sequel theres hope for Star Driver yet
I don't know why but I feel a bit nervous about the continuation, I have an odd feeling that the new character is the next generation and all the original characters got older or died, I don't want that all the characters had such depth and emotion to them (at least to me). But meh maybe I am just getting old and paranoid. Eureka Seven is the show that got me into anime and manga so lets see how it goes.(please be good >.<)
