Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters Revealed! [Updated]

Tokumei Sentai Gobusters Revealed!
The confirmed appearance of the 36th Super Sentai series, Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters (特命戦隊ゴーバスターズ) is finally revealed in the latest leaked toy catalogs. As you can see, the suit is close to the previously leaked art featuring RedBuster.

Similar to the previous Super Sentai series that aired after an anniversary series (Hurricaneger, Gekiranger), Go-Busters will start as a three-man team made up of RedBuster, BlueBuster and YellowBuster. As rumored, they have their own partner robots: Chida Nikku, Gorisaki Banana, and Usada Letas.

Their main mecha Go-BusterOh will be made up of three individual mechas: Go-Buster Ace, RedBuster's race car that turns into cheetah, and have a robot mode; GT-02 Gorilla, BlueBuster's truck that can change into a gorilla; and, RH-03 Rabbit, YellowBuster's helicopter that can change into a rabbit.

Gobuster-Oh
Along with their individual mechas, you can see the Go-Busters transformation device, the Morphin' Brace (モーフィンブレス), a wrist changer that releases shades for the heroes to transform into our next Sentai warriors!

Gobusters Weapons
Here are the Go-Busters' side weapons: the IchiganBuster, a gun disguised as a camera; and, the SouganBlade which is a sword disguised as a binoculars. According to previous rumors, this year will be spy or bounty hunter-themed so that explains why the weapons are like that.

Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters will premier on February 26th.

the suits look horrible but the mechas look pretty awesome....

  2. Anonymous Says:

    The suits are plain hideous.
    Awesome mecha though.

  3. Anonymous Says:

I looked At the Mecha Closer It seems the robo partners Transform into the head yeah the mecha is beter

  4. Anonymous Says:

Wow, the costumes a little bit weird but I'm gonna get used with them, but WOW.

  5. Anonymous Says:

I actually like the costumes. I mean they aren't the normal Sentai uniform but they'll work really well if its a spy/mission impossible theme.

  6. As we can see, this series will start at 2/26/2012. So Gokaiger will have 52 episodes.

  7. Anonymous Says:

Last Anon here. I forgot to mention that it looks like they watched Jungle Fury because... Well, sunglasses as henshin devices, doesn't that sound familiar (and awful?)

  8. Anonymous Says:

I think the suits really look good.
Suits the spy/bounty hunter theme (:

  9. Anonymous Says:

the suits really looks like metal hero suits. like it!, but too bad, i really would like to see sentai with japanese mythical creature theme in it just like the rumors.

  10. Anonymous Says:

the gobuster logo looks like the go-onger logo in a cosmic sort of way

  11. Anonymous Says:

At first I hated the costumes, but after looking at it longer I love them. I think it was just jarring to see the costumes weren't what I thought.

  12. Anonymous Says:

with a spy theme, the sunglasses finally work, the logo reminds me of GoOnger, the Suits are like Boukenger and the mecha Transform an roll out... I think I will like it, especially if and when the rest of the team gets here in June/July.

  13. I like the suits. The mecha design is also pretty good. I think I'll end up liking it.

  14. VERY metal-hero like... reminded me of Winspector.
Hmmm, I'm not sure about this sentai... I'll reserve my judgement until they announce the official cast list.

  15. Anonymous Says:

The Logo looks like a face... how the stripe looks like shades and the circle looks like a head..... Tokumei Sentai... Gurren Lagaan.

  16. V Says:

YAAAAAAAAY!! No cell phone henshin device! Rejoice!!
Also, the suits and sidearm weapons look badass, very reminiscent of Boukenger (one of my favorite Sentai series) as an earlier post said

  17. Anonymous Says:

    "oh, look! they're hideous!"

"oh look at the suit! it's horrible!"

    a few episodes later...

    "OMG IT'S AWESOME!"

"GOBUSTER IS THE BEST SENTAI EVER!"

seriously, fans... -______- I'm facepalming right here.

  18. Anonymous Says:

    i really2 don't like the suits,too simple,too cheap,and like cosplay,and that's not super sentai but like american superhero

  19. marty Says:

If you look closely in the advertisement you didn't see a single "Super sentai" logo this still maybe an indication that metal heroes will merge with super sentai.

  20. Anonymous Says:

^since they did keep "Sentai" in the title, may be it's like Metal Sentai or something :)

Kinda sad Gokaiger's gonna be an end of an era. Hope I'll be into it though.

  21. Anonymous Says:

I don't like that much the suits (the helmets look original and okay though).

Granted, they look less over-the-top than others Suits, but I would see some kind of Kevlar for the heroes, like the SWAT Dekarangers.

However, This season will be harder for us to like since it's after Gokaiger, and Much Like Goseiger (though it had some good points), people will hate this season.

  22. Mark0 Says:

It certainlly looks like battle fever or something like first sentai stuff

  23. Anonymous Says:

    the mechas are cool

  24. Anonymous Says:

this is the easiest suit to cosplay ever. so so cheap :P
    were they even trying?

  25. Anonymous Says:

Hmm, Chida Nikku has handlebars on his head, who wants to bet he transforms into a bike for red (Cue Kamen Rider Accel jokes).

Also, from the way the ads are presented it looks like the individual mecha may be sold separately. The only other series that I can remember doing anything like this is Dairanger/MMPR Season 2, where the red dragon was stand alone and the other four were sold as a set.

  26. Anonymous Says:

The partner mecha turn into heads and attach to vehicles which then turn into animals. Sound familiar? (*cough*Headers*cough*)

Normally I'd be mad about them reusing the exact same gimmick from two years ago, but in this case it looks like their executing the idea about a million times better than Goseiger ever did.

  27. Anonymous Says:

Most of these comments I've read seem like copy and pastes from back before Fourze aired. Do you internet kids always loathe something until it actually airs and you can really judge it?
I dig the suits because they seem different than previous ones. Gokaiger is my first sentai, mainly because it's an anniversary show, but I think I'll continue watching sentai after.

  28. Anonymous Says:

Really Not as ugly or hideous as every forms of kamen rider fourze or decede. Simple

  29. Anonymous Says:

I dunno. I think they look cool. I like how their visors match their color as well instead of being plain black.

  30. I agree with:

People love something to cry about though.

  31. Jonathan Says:

what is that old time saying??? "DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!" i think the suits looks f*#@ing sweet. i've been waiting for them to make the visors colored again since timeranger. the mechas and arsenal look awesome too... and wrist changers!? ITS ABOUT F@*#ING TIME! i think this season is gonna be good. its definietly gonna change the whole good, bad season patern. cant wait.

  32. Anonymous Says:

Time for some fun with translations!

Sentai loves double meanings, and in this case Tokumei can mean either mission or anonymous, both of which seem appropriate for a spy themed sentai.

The closest I could find for Gobuster is goubatsu, which means eternal punishment. This would fit both the bounty hunter motif and the supposed connection to Metal Heroes (who are usually cops or detectives).

Chida and Gorisaki are obviously derived from Cheetah and Gorilla, and Usada is from usagi (rabbit). Banana and Letas (lettuce) are pretty much self explanatory, and from that pattern I can guess that Nikku is from niku (meat). So the naming pattern is pretty much animal + animal's favorite food.

IchigaBuster is likely derived from ichiganrefu, the Japanese term for a single-lens reflex camera.

I think they misread the katakana for the name of the sword. Rather than RyugaBlade I believe it's read as SougaBlade, as in sogankyo (binoculars).

People are mentioning how the heshin device reminds them of Jungle Fury, but for me the first thing I noticed was the name, Morphin' Brace. Not Morphing, Morphin'. If that's not a shout out to Power Rangers I don't know what is.

  33. Anonymous Says:

"but for me the first thing I noticed was the name, Morphin' Brace. Not Morphing, Morphin'."

It's not actually romanized "Morphin'" in the actual catalog, that's just the blog poster spelling it that way. It could go either way and I doubt we'll ever know for sure unless it's on the toy packaging.

  34. Anonymous Says:

The only thing I sad when looking at this post is that Gokaiger gonna end...

  35. Anonymous Says:

I assure you this sentai will rock.

  36. Anonymous Says:

The sword weapon is Souganblade deriving from the japanese word sougankyou(binocular).

  37. Anonymous Says:

    Dude...
Super Sentai is using the term MORPHIN.

    MORPHIN!!!

I never thought this would ever happen. I'm amazed.

I can only imagine what their henshin call would be--- or should
    I say morphin call?

    "Morphin no jikan da!!"

  38. One reason that make the suit is hard in the eyes of many is the amount of color. We are used with sentai uniform with the sentai color on top of a white or black, especially on the chest. This one the chest looks plain.
But love the henshin device. I miss sentai using bracelet to henshin

  39. Anonymous Says:

I loved the suits and mecha. Can't wait for more.

  40. CadetRemi Says:

I'm loving the look of the suits and the helmets, and the mecha and weapons are pretty awesome, too. It's very simple, but, at the same time, it fits the whole spy theme anyway.

I think It's going to be an awesome sentai after Gokaiger.

  41. Adam Says:

The suits are bizarrely simplistic looking, but I can't help but like them for some reason. I am particularly fond of the colored visors.

And the mecha look positively splendid. Multiple modes for each robot is something I can always stand by.

  42. another sentai team with color visors.
    I LIKE!!! :D

  43. I dont like them they kinda look like color suits you might find at a thrifty store

  44. Luke Says:

At fist i thought "Yo, Mecha looks sweet, but Suits..eh"

But i thought for a second, this is based mainly on metal heroes, and looking at metal heroes and this, this suits fit nice and cool.

  45. Anonymous Says:

Color visor (Gokai Silver and Timerangers). Henshin Brace.(Last seen in Gekiranger). Mecha Partners (Auto Vajin and Power Dizer). Spy theme (Gorangers).I'm satisfied. Well all I need to see is a GreenBuster and a White Buster(with pink details like Gao White), and a sixth ranger like OrangeBuster(shout out to Battle Cossack). Then I will be even more satisfied and this will become one of my favorite Sentais. Even if Gavan, Sharivan, and Shaider are in it I only think that it will be a one Sentai thing to celebrate 30 years of Metal Heroes.

  46. Anonymous Says:

cool still i hope if they have a blackbuster it will be a female ahim in gokai proved a girl can pull off a black suit.
    "morphin' brace"?...
AWESOME!!! if they're henshin call is "its morphin time" in japanese i would just die from joy and laughter because we would have come full circle.

  47. Anonymous Says:

Early I meant to say "Henshin Brace(Last seen in Go-Onger)".

  48. Faboo95 Says:

"Most of these comments I've read seem like copy and pastes from back before Fourze aired. Do you internet kids always loathe something until it actually airs and you can really judge it?"

Well...yes, that's all they can do at this point. I see nothing wrong with forming an opinion on something before it actually airs, as long as they give it a watch and make their final judgments from that.

And btw, I still hate the Fourze suit.

  49. Anonymous Says:

hmm, shades used to transform... same as power ranger jungle fury? lol everything they have is made into a weapon - their vehicles, drinks (i think), cameras, and binoculars.

  50. Anonymous Says:

Does anyone else think that Red Buster's helmet looks like a red DraftKeace of Exceedraft?

  51. Anonymous Says:

Is this the first time we ever had a rabbit zord?

  52. arale norimaki Says:

Tetsuwan Tantei Robotack +sport rangers+ Tomica Hero Rescue Force Fire =Gobusters

  53. Well, Koichi Sakamoto is directing Fourze, so maybe some of his PR influence is spilling over? Or, hell, maybe he's working on Gobusters too? It wouldn't surprise me.

Also, those are the most Brave Saga-looking mecha ever, mixed with Mugenbine. I'm not complaining.

  54. Anonymous Says:

Frankly I'm loving all of the designs. Suits look utilitarian, which is a nice change. Partner robos could be fun. The mecha designs are great.

  55. Anonymous Says:

    yeah, the suits are boring.
    but the mechs are awesome!
their gattai mech looks like daiguard for some reasons.

  56. Anonymous Says:

    gobuster-oh looks like daiguard!

  57. Suits don't look like Super Sentai suits, but then it goes with the theme of the season. I'll grow to like it.

  58. Anonymous Says:

Those suits kinda remind me of extreme winter gear, but even that's pretty cool

  59. Anonymous Says:

I do really like the suits, but my only beef with them is YellowBusters helmet. I think it's the fact that it's more rounded than the other two, so it looks a lot more awkward. But otherwise I really like it. :) And the mechs look badass!

OK, I seriously cracked up at the fact that their henshin devices are called Morphin Braces. I love it! XD I will seriously be happy if their call is anything like the classic MMPR morphing call.

As a total Sentai newbie (like many who were introduced through Gokaiger), I'm kinda sad that Gokaiger is ending in Feb. (but yay! That means 52 episodes!), but I'll stick around and see how Gobusters turns out. You must impress me show! :)

    -platsu

P.S. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their weapons. It's like everything about the fictional spy weapons that I love all rolled into a show.

  60. natam Says:

I approved this. Time to reset back. Gokaiger is overpowered. =P

  61. I wish the Yellow Ranger is male

  62. Anonymous Says:

I Think we call It "Goonger 2:Electric boogaloo:!

  63. arale norimaki Says:

    tokumei Sentai Gobusters
    start on 2-26-2012 at 7:30am

  64. Every time I see the suits, my mind is on repeat saying, WTH WTH WTH WTH WTH was Bandai thinking??!! Of course I will reserve final judgment after watching the 1st episode.

  65. Anonymous Says:

Love the suits. "Buddyroids" reminds me a lot of Go-Onger, but about 50% cooler. Considering the Buddyroids size, perhaps they'll be involved in the fight sequences, acting as additional busters?

Oh, and best mechs in years, way better than the disappointing Gokaiger mechs, anyway.

  66. It even says IT'S MORPHING TIME if you look carefully at the ad for the Morphin Brace. It's most definitely tipping its hat to american fans for sure lol

  67. Andy Says:

why does their suits remind me of the first super sentai?

  68. Anonymous Says:

I just got into watching the sentai and I think its awesome , gokaiger was bad ass this one looks good too...

  69. Anonymous Says:

The Morphin Time world will transform into Henshin word

  70. Paul Says:

well, people, it's official, the henshin call ish "It's Morphin' Time!"

  71. Anonymous Says:

Go-busters is really awesome.i like the suits and it's really funny that they use leather now instead of spandex.and i also like the characters.the plot is also good. Busters, ready,go! ;)
