AKB48 member, Mayu Watanabe recently cosplayed as Macross Frontier's Sheryl Nome during an AKB48 handshake event at the Tokyo Big Sight event center last February 5th.
Also during the event, she also posed with fellow AKB48 member and anime fan Miku Tanabe, who dressed as K-ON's Yui Hirasawa.
Known to many of her fans by the nickname "Mayuyu," she is self-professed anime fan, which earned her a spot as one of the lead voice actress in the upcoming idol group themed anime, AKB0048.
