The official website of the upcoming 3D film adaptation of popular classic manga, Cyborg 009 by Shotaro Ishinomori, 009 Re:Cyborg started streaming a 133-second live action promo for the film.
The live action promo introduces a little background on the nine cyborg characters. A glimpse of the live action version of Cyborg 009 Joe Shimamura can also be seen in the video.
Moreover, the official international website had posted the 274-second international trailer for the 009 Re:Cyborg film. The video introduces the story's characters through footage of the film.
It was previously confirmed by producer Tomohiko Ishii that the film will simultaneously screen in five Asian countries including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea.
Production I.G and SANZIGEN Animation Studio are co-producing the project, and the Japanese film distributor T-Joy will release the film. Kenji Kamiyama is both directing and scripting the story of the new film, which will be set in the year 2013.
In the original Cyborg 009 manga, the secret Black Ghost organization transforms nine unsuspecting humans into cyborgs. However, the nine cyborgs turn on their masters and protect the rest of humanity from Black Ghost's plans for world war.
009 Re:Cyborg will premier on October 27th in both 2D and 3D.
