I've heard the new theme - it's much more action-paced and would fit more with the Pretty Cure franchise than Sailor Moon.

That being said, I really hope the new Sailor Moon anime takes cues from Pretty Cure and lets the girls not only cut loose but also let everyone other than Usagi defeat the monsters.

Kyaaaaaa!!!! I'm so excited, i can't wait xD

  3. Jaken Says:

Would be cool if they would follow the Manga more.

While the Anime and the Mange have similiar storylines, their approach was different.

The anime used a MOTW style to tell the story, while Manga only tackled the bigger Problem.

Result is a different feeling from both media. The anime beeing mostly gofy, however cleaner and more streamlined.
The Manga more mature, however with a weird pacing sometimes (in terms of power upgrades and the like). If they adress the focus on Sailor Moon and allow the other character to have some developement then i would prefer an Manga adaptation (which would be much shorter off course)

Jaken - From what I've seen? They ARE going to be using the manga, or at least following it much more closely.

  5. EZ8 Says:

Of course Momoiro Clover Z is going to sing the new theme lol...no wonder I've been seeing pics of them in the news a lot lately.

I'm excited for a new Sailor Moon anime, it's been sooo long since I've seen the original.

  6. Moonlight Knight Says:

This is good news! Now that they're following the manga more closely, we can see the characters who never made it onto the original anime like Sailor Cosmos, Princess/Sailor Kakyuu(Fireball), Sailor Chibi Moon's four guardian sailors(Pallas, Ceres, Juno, Vestia), etc. Hopefully, they'll also show the bit where Tuxedo Mask had his own Sailor Crystal as well!

Still waiting for them to put Sailor Moon Sailor Stars on DVD in the States...Maybe it'll finally turn up during the anniversary year.

  7. Jaken Says:

those characters appeared in the anime Moonlight Knight. All in their respective forms.

Theyonly changed the approach to the story with the monster of the week setting and a streamlined characterprocess (+ two extra seasons)

Tuxedo Mask had his Gold Cristal.

Damn i know too much about that stuff

    Jaken:

Sailor Cosmos never actually appeared in the anime, other than as a shadowy figure. Chibi Chibi never transformed into her, they just made her be Sailor Galaxia's Starseed.

Palla Palla, Cere Cere, Jun Jun, and Ves Ves did appear in the anime, but they never assumed their sailor identities. Kakkyuu actually became Sailor Fireball (or whatever her sailor name was)? I've only seen one episode of Sailor Stars.

Don't worry, I know a ton about Sailor Moon universe as well...I've got six volumes of the collected manga so far! =P

  9. Yazuka Says:

Omg! They are going to follow the manga more closely? That's some of the best news I've heard! First Namco Bandai announce Tales of Xillia for the west and now a new Sailor Moon anime that will follow the manga more. I'm in a state of happiness.

'I've heard the new theme - it's much more action-paced and would fit more with the Pretty Cure franchise than Sailor Moon.'

Having not watched any anime since bit of K-On! a few months back, I checked out the Pretty Cure themes. I'm not sure the original Sailor Moon theme was any good, but is it really going to be *that* hyper?

I can't keep up with the modern opening songs these days, they seem to all go at a million miles an hour.
