The first proper scans of Kamen Rider Wizard's antagonists have finally been unveiled! These creatures that were brought into our world through a strange solar eclipse ceremony that also lead to the creation of the magical rider.
They are called Phantoms. Within the series, they follow a certain hierarchy. Phantoms are the strongest type, Apparitions are the monsters of the week, and the Ghouls are the grunt monsters that attack in groups.
The currently revealed Phantoms are Medusa and Phoenix. Phoenix is the leader of the Phantoms. In the human world, he takes the identity of Yuugo. He is the strongest of all the villains, and has the ability to regenerate after being hurt in battle.
Meanwhile, Medusa is the female leader of the Phantoms. In the human world, she takes the identity of Misa. She has the ability to see into human hearts and recognize who might serve as a source of energy for the Apparitions.
The second image above features the Hell-Hound and Minotaurus, the first two Apparitions that Kamen Rider Wizard will face. A Phantom was born through the "Gate" from the human despair, starting from the spirit world then devour the host and making appearance to the reality world. After that they copy the host's appearance.
Kamen Rider Wizard premieres this September 2nd.

Pretty sure Kiva's the movie had some those greek mythologies as well.
Though they are looking more badass than i thought.
Don't forget the zodiac is Greek mythology also. And reading this article I started thinking about GoGo V and Lightspeed Rescue.

Phoenix looks like one of those cocky enemies . I love it, can't wait to hear him beat the crap out of a good guy and brag about it.
well at least i anticipated for a young but bad ass enemies..
we already have enough middle aged final boss like Mitsuaki Gamou aka Sagitarius Zodiarts, dr.Maki aka Purple Greeed, n Ryubee Sonozaki aka Terror Dopant.. .
Final boss in W was Utopia and Eternal, which is still quite.. not that middle aged.
doesnt misa (medusa) almost have the same ability as libra's eye of laplace except she's looking for the energy for the phantoms to feed on
Two sets of villains, bosses and MOW's huh? I guess these guys are similar to the Greeed from OOO, and that Hellhound is a creation of Phoenix while Minotaurus is a creation of Medusa (cause their colors are similar). so, maybe other villains will come in later on, including an all-powerful final boss that overshadows the previous villains (like Utopia, Dinosaur Greed, and Sagitarrius).

Ok so the Apparitions are like the Yummy from OOO, Monsters born from something inside the human heart. I'm hoping that like the Yummy they do an interesting twist on Despair like they did with Desire.

This is very similar to the yummy and greeed from OOO. The Horoscopes and Zodiarts had amazing designs and they had a certain theme that I loved but they were wasted and they didn't utilized all 88 of the constellations if not just a good majority of them and I blame it on the over reliance of subwriters. I mean come on crying monsters that's already crossing the line to Sentai camp.
I mean they should've have had all twelve Horoscopes appear at the 20's and the early 30's not the late 30's maybe because they all couldn't fit in Gamou's room. It should've been like this half of the Horoscopes being adults the other half students
Adults:Scorpion,Libra,Leo,Virgo,Sagittatius,Aries (Subaruboshi Principal who then transferred to become Gentarou's Homeroom adviser)
Students:Cancer,Aquarius,Taurus,Capricorn (Shun's younger brother),Gemini(Gentarou's old flame),Pisces (Gentarou's former best friend).
As well the appearance of the thirteenth Ophiuchus who will become central to the plot along with the Core Switch because Kengo is so uninteresting compaired to philip and ankh and such a spoiled brat with his role feeling so forced and unnatural.
PS: I hated the whole the KRC shtick.

I really, REALLY hope that the Apparitions are "true" monsters of the week. Because, recently the so called "monsters of the week" lasts for 2 weeks. I want to see different Apparitions every week, not every 2 weeks

It's probably still going to be a monster of the fortnight as always. Anyways, the designs for the phantoms look great.
I remember people finding the Zodiarts being bad ass looking. Guess where that went. All in all, i wouldn't say this kamen rider would be good from just this and the kamen rider costumes. I'll just wait for the actual show before going "This season is gonna be better than Fourze" cause for all you know, it may just be as bad as Fourze or even worse. (Which i know most people would not want. But you can't always get what you want)

If they can get a good mix of comedy and drama in Wizard, it will be a big plus in my books. Never would I want a wholly depressing show where everything is so goddamn depressing, and neither do I want prolonged Go-onger goofiness if the series isn't meant to be a parody.
So if Wizard can handle it like Double, I'm looking forward to loving this show.

Lots of people are talking about the similarities with Ozu. Well, they're meant to be set in the same sort of universe so it stands to reason that they have some likenesses.
I kinda thought Medusa looked like Insarn from Gokaiger.
