Capcom to Officially Release Street Fighter x Mega Man for FREE

Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Mega Man game franchise, Capcom will be officially releasing the “Street Fighter X Mega Man” fan-made PC game for FREE! The "Blue Bomber" fights new enemies and acquires new powers based on the Street Fighter fighting game.

Involving a true collaboration between a company and its fans, Street Fighter X Mega Man was created and developed by Singapore native Seow Zong Hui (aka “Sonic”), with direction and support provided by Capcom.

The game stars Mega Man and features eight original Street Fighter-themed levels and bosses inspired by the legendary fighting game series. Each boss character will utilize their individual strategies and special moves against Mega Man, as players attempt to mega blast their way through each uniquely charming 8-bit world.

Street Fighter X Mega Man will be released for FREE on December 17th, Mega Man's 25th birthday!

I don't know about anyone else, but releasing fan-made work as FREE sounded cruel for me. I mean, why didn't they just release it with a low price, to actually give profit to the maker? Yeah... they own the rights... but simply giving me away because it's made by fan, that's sleazy (for me).

I think Capcom did fund the original makers for this game. So lazy. I really just wish they'd make Mega Man games again that isn't half-assed.

Still though. I'm happy for SonicZH. I've been following the guy's development from RockmanPM.
