It has been announced that the PlayStation role-playing game Final Fantasy VIII will be released with high-definition graphics for the PC in Japan. Release date and additional content is yet to be announced as of writing.

Originally released for the PlayStation on 1999, and for the PC on 2000, Final Fantasy VIII follows the story of a group of mercenaries, who are part of an organization named "SeeD". Their main goal in the game is to stop a sorceress from the future (named Ultimecia) from compressing time.
