Pacific Rim Film's Japanese Voice Cast

Like many other foreign films, 2013's Hollywood tokusatsu filmPACIFIC RIM” will also be dubbed in Japanese for local screenings in Japan. What's cool about this is that the dub will handled by popular anime voice actors!

Leading the cast is Tomokazu Sugita (Kamen Rider Kiva's Kivat Bat the 3rd, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's Joseph Joestar) as Raleigh Becket. The film's heroine Mako Mori will be voiced by Megumi Hayashibara (Neon Genesis Evangelion's Rei Ayanami) instead of her original actress Rinko Kikuchi, who is a Japanese.

Tessho Genda (The Transformers's Optimus Prime/Convoy) will voice Stacker Pentecost, and Yuji Mitsuya (Touch's Tatsuya Uesugi) as Dr. Hermann Gottlieb. Meanwhile, Mobile Suit Gundam voice actors Toru Furuya (Amuro Ray) and Shuichi Ikeda (Char Azanable) voices Dr. Newton Geizler and Herc Hansen, respectively.

Lastly, Super Sentai voice actors Shigeru Chiba (Kyoryuger's Narrator, One Piece's Buggy) and Daisuke Namikawa (Go-Onger's Engine Speedor, Hunter x Hunter 2011's Hisoka) will voice Tendo Choi and Chuck Hansen.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.

To premiere on July 12th, Pacific Rim is Guillermo Del Torro's homage to the Japanese monsters, or kaiju films.

Uhmmm... (almost, if not subbed) ALL US movies that is shown in Japan are dubbed by POPULAR Voice Actors. Every hollywood actor/actress already has their 'Japanese counterpart' for their roles.
I think the word that is suitable to use here would be VETERAN Voice Actors, considering the names stated here... and not just popular.
    Just saying though... ;)

I agree. With the likes of Tomokazu Sugita, Megumi Hayashibara, Shigeru Chiba, Tessho Genda, Tohru Furuya, and Shuichi Ikeda who are established seiyuus, "veteran" or "seasoned" would be the appropriate term. :)
