Creator Nomura Hopes to Add Star Wars, Marvel in Kingdom Hearts III

With Disney's acquisition of Marvel and Lucas Films, Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura stated in an interview at Japan Expo that he is hoping to add Star Wars and Marvel Comics characters in its third installment, Kingdom Hearts III.

Nomura stated, “Of course it would be great if we could add those licenses as well, but there are lots of rules and restrictions by Disney so we can't actually put in everything people want. So it's a quite difficult decision but we're gonna prepare some surprises for you so, just wait for the information.

Final Fantasy developer Yoshinori Kitase commented on the topic, “We're not going to decide it whether Kitase-san likes Star Wars or not but we've been talking about Star Wars itself since it became Disney's content recently. When I heard the news I was like wow! Obviously it's gonna be great if we could add it.

Kingdom Hearts III was recently announced at E3 2013, and is currently in development for the PlayStation 4.

I'd much rather see Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles incorporated into KH than Marvel or Star Wars. Even the TV series villains of Aladdin would be more welcomed.

if Soul Calibur managed to get in Star Wars, I don't think it'll be too hard for Kingdom Hearts to get them in

Is it too selfish to ask if they DON'T put any Marvel/Star Wars characters in?

Imagine if Disney still owns Power Rangers until now. I bet they would've been added as well.

That was long before Star Wars was acquired by Disney. As it's now a Disney property it might not be so easy. I'm wondering what Marvel characters they can/would add. Well known, anyway. There's always The Avengers, but people would want guys like Spider-Man, and Wolverine. Both of which are owned by Sony (Huh, this one might not be so difficult after all!) and Fox, respectively. But, in any case, so nice to hear the game is coming! And by the way, you might want to add it will be coming to the Xbox One as well. It's not an exclusive.

i can see the star wars universe fiting into the kingdom hearts worlds.but i think it would be strange seeing sora teamup with wolverine or the incredible hulk.

Mark Hamill better reprise his role.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did put Power Rangers in their if Disney still had rights seeing that kids like Super Sentai as well.

With Square adding The World ends with You in Dream Drop Distance, adding Star Wars and Marvel would add more variety. If they can't be in their storywise, we would have to make do with summons.

I like Shinken452's idea of adding Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles as they are Disney original and classics.

I don't know about you guys, but I think they will try to get Iron Man. Keiji Fujiwara can reprise his role as Stark at the same time as Axel.

And there's a chance Adrian Pasdar will do the dub. Uggghhh.
