Dairanger Suits Seen on Power Rangers Super Megaforce Promo

At San Diego Comic-Con, Saban showcases the first promotional video for the 21st season of Power Rangers, Power Rangers Super Megaforce. Surprisingly, the promo shows a footage with the Gosei Sentai Dairanger suits, which doesn't exists in the franchise, minus the White Ranger.

Additionally, a ShishiRanger Ranger Key had been spotted on the Super Megaforce merchandise display. Here are a few shots from the promotional video at SDCC (courtesy of Henshin Justice):

This doesn't confirm that the suit will be in the show itself. The promo is said to be mostly comprises of clips from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, minus the scene above featuring the Megaforce Rangers transforming to Super Megaforce Rangers by utilizing the "Legendary Morpher". We'll just wait and see.

Power Rangers Super Megaforce focuses on the Rangers' mission to defeat a massive alien army Armada that was sent to conquer Earth. To face this threat, Gosei, a supernatural guardian who has protected Earth for centuries, gives the Rangers special morphers and keys, which allow them to morph into Super Megaforce Rangers. The Rangers also have an added special ability to morph into any team of Power Rangers from the past. These super-sized adventures can only mean one thing: the all-new Power Rangers Super Megaforce has arrived!

Oh gosh, so they are in fact going to have them morph a second time in order to....well, morph a third time to become one of the past rangers. Amazing...

  2. Kev- Says:

@Scott, I don't think it'll be too bad. As long as they don't have 2 roll-calls...that would get annoying fast

  3. Rather than the fact that they're using the Gokaiger suites the way they are, as an amature film maker I'm shocked to see them using that shot where blue ranger is fumbling his mopher. In my opinion this is just more proof that Saban brands as a whole just dosent care as much as they used too.

Why isn't there a video of this?

  5. marty Says:

You know its lucky that the dairanger suit in the promo is only in the promo i mean if its in the show then we fans will really get furious on why dairangers (minus kibaranger) is included in power rangers instead of remaining as an only sentai not adapted as a power ranger season

  6. I think all this stuff wouldn't bug me so much if they weren't completely burying the pirate theme of Gokaiger by throwing the word "Legend" around so much that it's lost all meaning.

  7. Anonymous Says:

Of course Saban is going to have them transform into the S.M. Rangers from a morphed suit at first. Then they'll be able to hop straight to the S.M. suit just like Kamen Rider can go straight to their final form.

Saban does not have footage or enough money to create footage that shows the Gosei powers and zords being destroyed so they had no choice but to go this route. They're trying to catch up to current JP sentai place ever since Disney messed it up by doing MMPR remixed instead of Samurai.

  8. Anonymous Says:

Not to mention that the series is only 20 episode long... There's no way to write out a new script with new footage from Toei on an older JP sentai season in a decent amount of time. Saban went with merging two shows together to try and catch up with current sentai.

  9. Anonymous Says:

Someone has to record this SDCC teaser with the Rangers morphing in SuperMega Mode!

  10. Anonymous Says:

What the actual hell? They can't use the Dairanger suits, that's what Zyu2 was for.

  11. Anonymous Says:

Saban using the real Dairanger suit would be a real slap in their own face... they basically messed it up themselves by making Kibaranger as leader and continue using Zyuranger costume for the rest, but now suddenly everyone wears Dairanger'. I bet they're going to give a very silly explanation about it on the show considering kids are not aware about those suits ("Another alien ranger" twist)

  12. Anonymous Says:

Why so many complaint of having to morph more than once?
Didn't the original power rangers need to morph their megazords in the second season to take on lord zedd's big monster?
I don't hear any complaints on that

Maybe the Gokaiger suits are just the power-up versions of megaforce.
Just like how every team had a super mode.
All they have to do is say the Ultra Mode power was destroyed by the alien armada.
They won't need to transform into them unless they need more power.
The use of past rangers will be to help them in situations where those powers will be most useful.

And I hope they do use the Dairanger suits.
Just call them the ThunderRangers, since the second season the rangers had ThunderZords and we no longer would have to call the White Power....Ranger that anymore. White Thunder Ranger sounds cooler.
And so what if DinoThunder exists, there's a difference man.

  13. Anonymous Says:

i hate the fact that jake will have to switch between black (goseiger suit) and green (gokaiger suit) while the other rangers keep their colors.

  14. Dairanger? I don't seem to recall them using that suit back then at all. The white ranger is understandable but I am now curious as to how they are going to explain this in the future episode.

  15. MPH Says:

    ^
And that right there is the main problem I have. Is it really necessary to have to do that? Why not just have the Megaforce powers lost somehow and have the rangers upgraded to the Super powers? Saban did that numerous times during the Zordon era so they could just do that again.

  16. Anonymous Says:

You mean like how Adam and Carlos switched between costumes in seasons and how Doc in gokaiger would do the same. Why does it bother you people now. Black and green have always gone hand and hand in Sentai/ PR series. What the big deal?

  17. Anonymous Says:

    @VictoryLeo

    Easy to explain.

When Zordon created the White Ranger powers, he used the Dairanger powers. Thing is, he only found the one for KibaRanger. Ninjor gave the other rangers the ability to use the of the DaiRanger power to fuel their own power coins. The use of the Legendary Morpher gives the rangers the ability to use the powers in their true form.

  18. Anonymous Says:

Maybe Saban want to explain about super megaforce power.

Maybe Dairanger is a ranger team that helps gosei.to create super megaforce power (so green. super megaforce make sense)

I bet dairanger keys will replace goranger keys for super megaforce dual weapon finishier (gokai scramble, gokai blast and slash)

Or dairanger is an excuse for saban to use variblum as part of Goren Gokaioh (since the finisher in 199 heroes movie is giant sword with 5 coloring star*)

*the star color is - red, blue, yellow, green and pink that match 5 colored star on dairanger.symbol

  19. Anonymous Says:

Saban is forced to merge 2 Sentai seasons to catch up only because they did that shit with Shinkenger, splitting it into 2 seasons

  20. Anonymous Says:

I STILL don't understand why people have a problem with Black going to Green.
It happened constantly in Gokaiger itself.

The colors are interchangeable when it comes to sentai/power rangers. Always have been. There were no problems with Adam going from Black to Green or Carlos going from Green to Black so why should Megaforce/Jake be any different.

I really feel like it's just people wanting to find something to complain about, even if they have no real ground to stand on.

  21. Anonymous Says:

Saban is trying to catch up with the series by only doing 20 episode each season? But it still takes a year for each season.

  22. WillowWisp Says:

    @Anonymous 5:16 AM

You're comparing apples with oranges with some parts of that comment.

The transformation from the original Zords to the new Thunder Zords was done to up the ante against Lord Zedd's forces. However, NOT ONCE did the Thunder Zords ever transform back into the original Zords.

THESE powers for Super Megaforce are merely a tool, and they shouldn't be. If they were going to just use it as they are, they should just have the Mobirates.

The idea of going from one suit to another, in Power Rangers, is to show a progression of power and becoming better to face an adversary. But if it is just going to be a case of being able to transform into past rangers, why use the Gokaiger suits at all? By transforming from Goseiger to Gokaiger to Zyuranger and back through again, what is the point of the Gokaiger suits now?

    Simple: none.

Also, the reason why having the Dairanger suits in there is a terrible idea is that it is basically compensating for lazy editing...very POORLY compensating. Making up a reason as to why to have these suits THIS FAR IN to the series isn't smart or does the series justice.

  23. Anonymous Says:

Apparently the Dairanger's are said to become the "Ancient Rangers" of Saban's Power Rangers universe. In my opinion, it sounds interesting.

  24. Anonymous Says:

My Theory of Why Dairanger suits are used is might be that ....

    1. They might belong to predecessor of the megaforce team. In Gosieger Brajirah (Vrak here) was ex gosie angel whowas powerful among his team.He also was the master groudion so. If saban creates a similar origin for Vrak then Dairangers would appear I mean Red and Pink of both teams had Deagon and phoenix as mechas the green ranger had lion based mecha. Plus Anaylyze Dairangers arsenal the mechas are summoned through spheric jewels or small orbs and Vrak's has
small orb of each tribe. This would be bteer story draft.
2.Or... Dairanger would ber the hidden power unlocked by the megaforce. Suppose If along with Tommy other lost their powers Then Zordon would have transformed them into Dairangers.

Well This is my side of why Dairanger suits are here But I think might be scrapped as it could be a teaser only.

  25. Anonymous Says:

I think I figured out how they're using the dairanger suits.

When messing with the sound affects of the megaforce morpher, you get sound affects of gosei shouting ranger teams and colors. (Mighty Morphin...red. Zeo! Red. Turbo! Red.Etc)

However there's an extra one for MegaForce.
    MegaForce, Red. POWER-UP!
Which most likely refers to the super Mega Force Powers.
But, there's also one for Mighty Morphin.
    Mighty Morphin', Red. POWER-UP!

So, could this imply that the dairanger suits will represent power up versions of the original mighty morphin powers?
    Thoughts anyone?

  26. Anonymous Says:

I did some research and I can say that a Gosei Green does exist but is dead in the sentai.

Maybe Saban will find some way to switch Jake's black suit for the green one.

  27. Anonymous Says:

This was expected, guys! Pre Zranger was taken out, Dairanger was the one AFTER, we just didn't get the full series, just white. This isn't a big deal, just an add on team. Not that exciting seeing we're not getting the whole Dairanger series.

  28. Unknown Says:

People have a problem with black going to green because in the sentai where some of the footage will come from the green pirate is an awful fighter, where the current black ranger appears to be a much more competent fighter. The color switch is fine, its the way the character will act after the switch that is wrong. If you ask me Blue should go to green and black to blue, because the blue pirate is an awesome fighter. And with the Diaranger suits, the sentai was called Gosei Sentai Diaranger so perhaps these were ancient rangers Gosei trained in the past. And maybe he lent the White Ranger and Thunderzord powers to Zordon when he needed them.

  31. Bioranger Says:

I know all the suits from the first 16 Super Sentai series don't exists in the Power Rangers Universe. But Saban could have kept them in Power Rangers Super Megaforce as part of the Mega War.

If he had used the footage taken from Gokaiger, he would have said that some of them were the Power Rangers from the future, just like Power Rangers Time Force and Power Rangers S.P.D. are from the future.

We all know that S.P.D. are from the year 2025 and Time Force are from the year 3000.
But Saban still could have said they were from the future, too.

Let's just say the Power Ranger suits (Based on the Himitsu Sentai Gorenger suits) were from the year 2075.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai suits) were from the year 2077.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Battle Fever J suits) were from the year 2079.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Denshi Sentai Denziman suits) were from the year 2645.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan suits) were from the year 2286.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Dai Sentai Goggle-V suits) were from the year 2495.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Kagaku Sentai Dynaman suits) were from the year 2361.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Choudenshi Bioman suits) were from the year 2550.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Dengeki Sentai Changeman suits) were from the year 2130.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Choushinsei Flashman suits) were from the year 2166.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Hikari Sentai Maskman suits) were from the year 2820.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Choujuu Sentai Liveman suits) were from the year 2718.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Kousoku Sentai Turboranger suits) were from the year 2747.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Chikyu Sentai Fiveman suits) were from the year 2281.

The Power Ranger suits (Based on the Chojin Sentai Jetman suits) were from the year 2565.

And the Power Ranger suits (Based on the Gosei Sentai Dairanger suits) were from the year 2411.

    Why didn't Saban do it?

  32. Bioranger Says:

Which year or century would you say they were from? If Saban had used them in Power Rangers Super Megaforce. The suits from the first 16 Super Sentai series, I mean.

  33. Turbo Leauge Says:

    I would say this:

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Himitsu Sentai Gorenger suits) are from the year 2915.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai suits) are from the year 2078.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Battle Fever J suits) are from the year 2885.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Denshi Sentai Denziman suits) are from the year 2156.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan suits) are from the year 2184.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Dai Sentai Goggle-V suits) are from the year 2192.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Kagaku Sentai Dynaman suits) are from the year 2236.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Choudenshi Bioman suits) are from the year 2248.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Dengeki Sentai Changeman suits) are from the year 2350.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Choushinsei Flashman suits) are from the year 2363.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Hikari Sentai Maskman suits) are from the year 2452.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Choujuu Sentai Liveman suits) are from the year 2589.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Kousoku Sentai Turboranger suits) are from the year 2642.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Chikyu Sentai Fiveman suits) are from the year 2770.

Power Ranger suits (Based on the Chojin Sentai Jetman suits) are from the year 2065.

And Power Ranger suits (Based on the Gosei Sentai Dairanger suits) are from the year 2080.

    Any one else?

  34. Christiaan774 Says:

I've been hearing alot about the black to green change or anything similar alot so hear's a kind of explanation for it. Because don dogier/gokai green from gokaiger is a green ranger, he's suppose to represent every green sentai ranger but because not every team had a green ranger instead they had a black ranger he would become a black ranger aswell in teams that had one (except if the team had both a green and black ranger (e.g. go-onger/rpm)the pink ranger would morph into a female version of the black ranger instead). so maybe that's the kind of approach saban has for jakes character. plus on the note of dairanger, most people's theories on their appearance in SMF are because the full team name is called Gosei Sentai Dairanger and that's why the Megaforce mentor is called Gosei and that Saban is gonna implement that Gosei created them. the name is a coincidence because the super sentai counterpart of megaforce is called Tensou Sentai Goseiger hence the names of Gosei and his assitant Tensou. I doubt that's what saban would do this plus it's pretty lazy and a bit late for them to add dairanger now. the had their chance when they first started power rangers
