D-BOYS member Shunji Igarashi announces, via the group's official website, that he will be retiring from the entertainment industry. Igarashi is known as Hibino Mirai in the 2006 television series, Ultraman Mebius.
According to his announcement, he will be retiring by the end of November. With his graduation from D-BOYS, his contract from Watanabe Entertainment will also be terminated. Lastly, Igarashi thanks fans from their utmost support and encouragement.
Igarashi started his entertainment career auditioning for D-BOYS in the group's first open audition, held on July 27, 2004. Winner of the Grand Prix second place, Igarashi joined the group shortly after, along with first placer Yuichi Nakamura and third placer Katsuki Nakamura.
He starred in various TV series such as Hana Kimi (2007) and ROOKIES (2008), and movies such as Paradise Kiss (2011) and all Ultraman related films from 2008 to 2010. In 2006, Igarashi also released his solo photobook "mirai", akin to his Ultraman Mebius character.

is the entertainment workforce in japan being affected by the bad economy as well.it seems like theres been a lot of actors retiring at an early age lately.hopefully this wont be a new trend that would affect actors reprising their roles in our favorite toukuatsu shows.
Does this mean he will no longer be available to reprise his role as Ultraman Mebius?
