It has been announced that idol group AKB48's 34th single, “Suzukake Nanchara” debuted at the top charts, selling 1,033,000 copies during its first week! The single features the winners of the 2013 Janken Tournament, with Jurina Matsui as the center.

Having the record of the longest single title from the idol group, the full title is “Suzukake no Ki no Michi de 'Kimi no Hohoemi wo Yume ni Miru' to Itteshimattara Bokutachi no Kankei wa Dou Kawatteshimaunoka, Bokunari ni Nannichi ka Kangaeta Ue deno Yaya Kihazukashii Ketsuron no youna Mono”.


The single marks the group's 15th consecutive (and 16th in total) million-selling single! With this, AKB48 had broken another of B'z's record for the total number of million-selling singles, kept for 13 years and 9 months.

Currently, AKB48 holds the third highest record for the total number copies sold for singles since their debut, which has reached an estimated total of 25,835,000 copies.
