Kenshin Meets Shishio in Latest Live-Action Rurouni Kenshin Film Sequel Photos

New behind the scenes photos of the live-action Rurouni Kenshin film sequels has surfaced online. These photos were taken last November and features Kenshin's first meeting with Makoto Shishio.

The filming took place at the Shōnai Movie Village studio set in Yamagata Prefecture. The scene features Kenshin and Shishio's first meeting, and later, his duel with Sojiro.

The film's costume designer, Kazuhiro Sawataishi revealed that the crew took great pains to recreate Shishio's iconic costume. Though the costume looks like realistic bandaging, it is actually a suit fabricated out of material similar to hard plaster to Fujiwara's dimensions.

In addition, director Keishi Otomo revealed that it took them an hour for actor Tatsuya Fujiwara to put on the costume. As for Fujiwara, he revealed that the costume feels like wearing a heavy wetsuit and he had a hard time to hear in it. He also added that wearing the costume "flicks a switch" and lets him embody the role.

Based on the manga/anime's Kyoto Arc, the Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc premieres this August 1 and the follow-up, Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend Arc premieres this September 13.
