It was announced on a Wednesday press conference at Akagi Shrine in Tokyo that Ochiai Masayuki (Parasite Eve, Shutter, live-action TV The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) would be writing and directing a new Juon/The Grudge horror film with the title, "Juon: Owari no Hajimari" (The Grudge: Beginning of the End). The shooting for the film will begin on Tuesday and scheduled to open in theaters on June 28th.

To star as the school teacher, Yui who investigates her student's home after days of being absent is Nozomi Sasaki (One Piece Film Z's Zomino). The student, Saeki Toshio who is played by Kobayashi Kai, is living in a house that hides a horrific secret. To know the truth behind all the horrors happening, Yui has to relive all of it that took place 10 years prior.

In 2003, the first Juon: The Grudge film had opened in Japanese theaters and was adapted in 2004 in a Hollywood live-action film starred by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Two more Hollywood adaptations and multiple sequels in Japan (recently on 2009) has been given to the film franshise. Oz Productions which happened to be the first film's Japanese production company under the prominent horror film producer Ichise Takashige filed for bankruptcy in 2012.
