The first Rurouni Kenshin sequel, Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno, has opened on August 1st and garnered 822,734,430 yen (about $8 million) selling a total of 645,086 tickets on its first three days which made it the biggest opening of any Japanese live-action film in 2014
Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends is scheduled to open in Japanese theatres on September 13th.
