For this poll we asked our readers, for them, 2 of their male role models from the tokusatsu genre irregardless of the character's stand whether he is from the goodie-good side or from the villains.

He is actually a leader that make people he leads well assured and most of people obey him without any worry. Yet he is actually a self-assured leader. Yet the best trait he has is his persistence to achieve goal and responsible.

Shinnosuke represents the idea that anyone can overcome the mistakes of their past, they just need to find a reason to move past it. By becoming Kamen Rider Drive, Shinnosuke was able to let go of his regret from the incident with Hase and get back on his feet, becoming an even better police officer than he was before.

He is the man who prefers dealing things head on. He believes in fair play as he doesn't want anyone including his teammates cheating during fights & he is against attacking someone cowardly[by means of attacking behind their backs]. Despite possessing "Survival of the Fittest" philosophy, he wants other people like him to become stronger & take those who trample them.

Mature, level headed, pure etc, basically the only character that would be good model character for everyone, he is a nice believable guy that didn't fall into anime/toku stereotype, that is plastic, angsty and overdone.

He is the type of kaijin who really lives up to his name as no matter what happened to his fellow comrades(Roidmudes), he still deeply cares for them even Chase(Proto-Zero). He, just like few characters like Kaito, he prefers fair play as when Shinnosuke is beaten & Belt-san was abducted by Roidmude 004, he spares him due to injuries he sustained.

Shotaro is one of those characters who, despite having a tragedy, continues to grow and use it for inspiration and move forwards without falling into the hole of an Anti-Hero or moping around.
He's kind of like a big kid who just wants to impress everyone and show he is cool despite still being young and derpy. He constantly faced people doubting his abilities but he kept proving he was a worthy person, not only as a Rider but as a Detective as well.
Also his ways of finding a cat are one of the funniest things in a Kamen Rider series.

He's a nice guy who wants to have fun and makes sure that he's got good connections with the people around him. He knows how to act properly among his teammates and others and eventually he was able to defeat Deboss and be with the one he loves. I think this also says a lot about King.

Out of ask the characters in Gaim, Kouta stands out. Not just as the main character, but he keeps going through so many things that turn out bad and he doesn't stop trying despite what happens. It sticks out as he ends up winning by the end of the series, showing that you can earn your happy ending.

Despite the thing he did during Movie War Core(which he helps a line of people "in need" which they are actually using those money for their luxury[the thing Hina-chan is dismayed over that]) he knows that they will be responsible for the actions they did afterwards.

why only two sentai characters on this list?
For one, i am. To get something from your own strength and to achieve it for your own....to me, it's good. You got to believe in yourself more than anyone, and you gotta know yourself before you can say it. He might be a douche, but his standards are well placed, thats why i agree.
I'm agree with Kouta, can you feel his despair when he knows he kill his own friend in the first episode? :-(

I guess Ultraseven didn't make it in the list as it is primarily a TOEI Rider/Sentai fiasco!!!!
I am sad that Otoya Kurenai was not on the list. Sure he made a lot of women think he loved them, but he did it more to make them feel happy than out of any malicious intent. This is represented best after he used the IXA armor that hospitalized Jiro; Otoya would rather go on a date while in enough pain to incapacitate a werewolf in order to make a woman happy than to make her worry as he is rushed to the hospital. Add to that the fact that he managed to befriend Jiro, Riki, and Ramon (all monsters that ate humans) and was willing to don the Dark Kiva armor three times in order to defeat King despite that doing so once would kill him, and you have "best male" material right there.
Am I the only one who would have said Hoji Tomasu/Deka Blue? He was my favorite character, and Dekaranger was my first Sentai when I was a kid. I always admired that level-headed perfectionism and how even if he didn't always explicitly show it, he cared for his teammates and the people around him. (Maybe because I could relate.)
On a slightly unrelated note, did anyone else know Tsuyoshi Hayashi (Hoji's actor) was in a group called DA2-DANZIN? They have 4 songs on a channel called himawariseisakubu. There are also a lot of groups on that channel. In fact, Souta Mogami/Bouken Blue's actor is also in a few of those groups too. I would actually recommend that channel. It has a lot of really catchy stuff.
there is more to tokusatsu than kamen rider and sentai that had great role models. This poll should have been called 2000 to 2016 best kamen rider and sentai leading male hero role model
Some bs inspirational quotes on moral of the story, plus Decade too overrated and too mainstream.
