Digimon Voice Actress Passes Away

Another sad news has hit the anime industry as the original voice actress for Chibi Maruko Chan's Sakiko Sakura and Digimon's Sora, Yuko Mizutani, has passed away at the age of 51. She was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Mizutani first voice acting job was in the first Mobile Suit Gundam series where she took the role of Sarah Zabiarov back in 1985. Her recent work was in Sailor Moon Crystal where she was the one who portray the voice of Ikuko Tsukino. The voices for the Chibi Maruko Chan episodes that will air this May 22 and 29 have already been recorded by Fuji Tv will announce a new voice actress that will succeed Mizutani at a later date.

We at JEFusion mourns the lost of another great personality in the anime industry and sends our condolence to Yuko Mizutane's family.
