Thanks to twitter user @vanno_kamoyo, a leaked promotional image for next year's 41st Super Sentai series has surfaced giving us our first official look at the newest team, Uchuu Sentai Kyuuranger.
And as official confirmed, we will have 9 core heroes for the series which are of planetary constellations: ShishiRed (lion), OokamiBlue (wolf), KaijikiYellow (swordfish), ChameleonGreen, WashiPink (eagle), OushiBlack (ox), SasoriOrange (scorpion), TenbinGold (Libra), HebitsukaiSIlver (ophiuchus).

The show's collectible gimmick are in the form of spheres called Kyudama. Each hero will have corresponding Kyudamas with more to be collected like Kujira (whale), Kenbinkyu (microscope), Ryoken (hound), Andromeda and Perseus.
Each hero will have a sidearm called Seiza (constellation) Blaster and weapons like Kyu Sword, Kyu Axe and Kyu Spear.
The vehicles will be called Voyagers with the first mecha of the series to be called Kyurenoh.
Can you feel the Gransazer vibe in this one? Looks like 2017 is gonna be a new fresh start for the Super Sentai franchise!

I'm glad Toei is doing something new for the upcoming sentai, yet I'm worried the series might be a bit overstuffed for it's own good. But still, nine members from the getgo dayum Toei.

ReplyDeleteIts just me or.......did this looks like one of that chinese tokusatsu series ? Being honest.....that suits sucks and the fact of showing already 9 heroes dont sound like a super sentai series .....I think this is a fake .

ReplyDeleteI was excited when I first caught wind of the concept rumors, I was excited for the leaked concept art, and it's all carried on to now. STARTING with nine rangers? Very unique and different, as is the tradition with post-anniversary seasons. We even have black and green on the same team, in addition to orange, gold, and silver. What would be absolutely awesome is if we got another violet or gray, or even a new color. Bronze, anyone? I don't know about you guys, but I am absolutely hyped for our 41st sentai. Kinda makes me wonder how they're gonna approach the "sixth ranger" thing, though.

ReplyDelete& the constellation theme gives me those Dairanger feels & they already have more members than any other team besides Kyouryuger , AT THE START ! Dairanger had the first official 6th member & Kyuuranger has the first ever starting line up of 9 !
I'm lowkey hoping for a maybe Sendai award kind of thing here , where the teams of 3 would be at odds over a certain achievement/treasure/power and come together towards the climax when they have a common enemy they just can't overcome separately ! Who knows , but what I do know is I'm hype for Sentai next year , more than I am/was for Zyuoger .
The first offical sixth ranger was Burai the DragonRanger from ZYURANGER not KibaRanger from DAIRANGER.

ReplyDeleteWOW...I'm speechless (I mean that in a good way) four years I've been hoping for the sentai Franchise to show me something new in suits. I didn't love ToQger or ZyuOhger, I though that they were to simple and lazy as though they're were no efforts being put in. These looks good and different. It seems that their suits has been influence by the chinese sentai. I wonder if the suit is spandex or leather as well. That is a lot team members for series that has not even started. I wonder is it going to literally start off the series in with nine members? or are they gonna join later. The image here is not clear enough so I can't see everything clearly except red. Red looks cool so does orange and I like their henshin devices. I just hope the series takes it's time in character development.

ReplyDeleteI thought I heard that Super Sentai was ending the series at season 40. I am very happy that they are continuing and the suits and colors look great! Hopefully they will continue the series for years to come. Anybody know what changed their mind with making more seasons?
