(Update) Tatsuya Nomi Of Gosei Sentai Dairanger Passed Away At Age 47

A very sad day has come to past for all Super Sentai fans specially that of Gosei Sentai Dairanger as Tatsuya Nomi, who portrayed the role of Daigo/Shishiranger has passed away at the age of 47 last May 18, 2017.

The news came from a tweet from Tatsuya's brother and was confirmed by our friend, Sir Danny Torres with blog translations from Filip. According to confirmed reports from various news sites and Super Sentai fan groups and sources, the cause of his death was suicide.

Tatsuya was born in August 13, 1969. Years after Dairanger ended, he returned to the tokusatsu scene as a guest in Ninpuu Sentai Hurricanger as Sanpei Hamada, one of Shurikenger's human disguise, and in Go Go Sentai Boukenger Task 37 where he played the role of the Wakabayashi manager.

We at JEFusion sends our deepest condolences and prayers to the family and close friends of Mr. Tatsuya Nomi. May the spirit of the Heaven Phantom Star live forever in our hearts.

Rest In Peace, Nomi Tatsuya. I never watched Dairanger in full, but when I was a kid and my dad showed me clips from DVDs we got in Japan, I used to always copy Shishiranger's pose. What a tragedy.

I will admit I do not know who Nomi Tatsuya is, and I've never seen Dairanger. Never the less; I wish to pay my respects to an actor who played an active part in the Tokusatsu Franchise, especially Super Sentai. (gives an honest bow)

    May he rest in peace.

Jesus he was young. Here I am expecting to hear things like this about the cast of Goranger and JACQ.

  5. I got the information from Kusakari Koichi san and from Ms. Georgette Inaba. Rest in peace, Nomi Tatsuya san. Condolence to his family and to all Super Sentai fans.

    Another legend has fallen..... :'(

And I bet he's an even better Daigo than a certain Daigo who is a spotlight-hogger in a certain Dino Sentai.....

May you shine bright among the stars, Nomi-san. This hurts on so many levels, since Daigo was my favourite character in Dairanger. Especially during the Kujaku Arc.

  9. I watched some episodes in tribute, including a Daigo centric one.

Rest in peace, Tatsuya san. You were my favorite character from Dairanger. That connection with Kujaku was really heart wrenching during the show and hearing this was heart wrenching on a whole other level. My condolences to his family and everyone affected by this.

Whatever you might think of Kyoryuger's Daigo, I'm sure Dairanger's Daigo would not want his death to cause everyone to start ripping on Kiryu Daigo. I believe all the Sentai actors have a respect for each other for being part of the same legacy.

  13. Rest in peace Daigo/Shi-shirangre. Here I thought that we might get a dairanger ___years after. God bless his family and soul.
