Here is a clearer image of the new forms to be featured in the Kamen Rider Wizard TV series, Kamen Rider Wizard Infinity Style and Kamen Rider Beast Hyper. Also seen at the back is the White Wizard. Does this meant that he will be called as a Kamen Rider later on?
Kamen Rider Wizard Infinity Style wielding the Shining Axe-Sword (Kaki OnoKen) AxCalibur, while Kamen Rider Beast Hyper uses the Reflective Beast Gun (Kyomen JyuJu) Mirage Magnum. Both new weapons will be released in April.
Bandai will also be releasing White Wizard's Wizard Driver this May.
Wizard Infinity Style is aesthetically pretty damn awesome.

Did one guy phoned in Meteor Storm, and his pal looked at it and thought: "tch. I can take that one step further...?"

Didn't Super-1 also had cowboy frills on his arms? Not that I'm saying it was a cool design choice on him but I don't think it's that bad that that design choice was reused on another rider almost 30 years later. But it does seem like Beast could have just as easily did without it.

There's 2 helmets. The one you see in the closeup shots have very limited vision in the form of slits in the lines on the face. The "action" helmet has see-thru material that would show on the camera in a closeup.

ReplyDeleteIt's pretty obvious that either A) the designers and namers did not watch any kamen rider series before this one or B) They did but just thought that particular elements (color, aesthetics, names, etc.) would not be that big of a deal to reuse.
ReplyDeleteEither way I don't think Beast Hyper is bad. Sure they could of went with a color scheme that was not used in the series that came directly before (Seriously people, the color scheme of both riders in all their forms (except for infinity) have been used for other riders before them, it isn't really that worth complaining about). And sure they could have chosen and name for the super form that has not been used by another riders super form already (don't forget Wizard is not the only rider whose forms are named after elements nor is he the only one with a fire powered form called flame). And besides horns and a gun as a weapon, I don't really see any other similarities to rising IXA that would lead someone to see Hyper Beast as a ripoff of him. But when it comes down to it, as long as he is awesome in action, looks and name really don't matter (but still a name change and color change wouldn't hurt).

ReplyDeleteOk, i usually like secondary riders over main riders and I was liking Beast more than Wizard up to now, but ok, seeing these upgrades there's no way to keep prefering Beast... Wizard will be my favorite rider on its series... Seriously, diamond? AWESOME!! And the shiny white/transparent colors are amazing! Well, white is what you get when you mix all colors, so it really makes sense!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, someone said that finally we get a rely cool final form since a long time... Well, I believe the last rider shows to have nice final form was Hibiki and Kabuto (however I still prefer normal Kabuto over Hyper Kabuto) then we had Kiva (Emperor is awesome)! ...From this point start the bizarre and ugly ones with W Extreme being the most acceptable of then.. It's a just ok final form, not that cool but not that ridiculous!
Anyway, unfortunaly, I hate this toyish axe of wizard... I usually don't like axes, also the sword/knife-like part of it has an ugly shape/edge and it looks too much like a toy! I barely believe it can actually hurt anyone!!!
Beast has Meteor shoulders... I know they tried to make it looks like a poncho (his arms even has cowboy strings) and the cowboy motif/gunner is a good idea but badly, VERY BADLY executed! Gold, dark blue and bright red totaly sucks together!
Wizard looks somewhat like Knight Survive but also reminds of Shaka (virgo) form Saint Seiya... And both chars are COOL, so it's a plus to Wizard! ;Dd
Normally, final forms look more armored than previous forms. But in this case, wizard's final form looks less armored...Bishounen upgrade, anyone?

I like Infinity, Hyper... well he looks like, well... sh!t, I tell you! They could at least done Purple and Gold at least! It would be fine as long as they used a different color than just Black & Gold like the original form, unless it gives a good vibe when we see it, I'm not even going to stand seeing it. Still, I wish they stopped using the Rider's gimmicks for the final form, I liked it when they were special, well that ended with Double. They could have at least have made some special armament for it, I always found them cool. For example, Ryuki had the gun, W had the eagle thing, Kabuto had the Hyper Zector, Den-O had the phone, Deacde had the touchpad, where did it all go!?

No, the OOO's creator's stated that OOO final form was Super Tatoba.
ReplyDeleteMy take is that they need to distinguish the special theme of the Riders.
ReplyDeleteWizard Infinity is Silver-based suit while Beast Hyper's dominant color is Gold. Similar to what Kabuto (Red) and Gatack (Blue) is like.
Plus, Beast Hyper's design is most likely to take in a form of a Spanish Matador (notice the form's forearms anyone?) since he controls beast abilities like a Matador. That kind of design is usually reserved for top-class Matadors so it is not strange to have such a design.
As for Wizard Infinity, AxCalibur may be used in 2 ways: Axe Mode where power attacks can be used to hack shields and defenses; while Sword Mode will see an extended blade similar to Fourze Cosmic States's rocket sword when used in Sword Mode. Think in that direction and you'll understand the meaning in the designs.

Yeah, it is. It's based on a Sphinx. The Sphinx from Ohranger (PR Zeo) has the same color scheme.
Lots of toku "know-it-alls" on this site looked right past that and whine about color... not knowing that's the color scheme of Sphinxes in Toei's world. A Sphinx can be called a type of (Beast)Chimera.
