PlayStation 4 Finally Unveiled [Updated]

With all those teasers in the past few months, Sony had finally unveiled their 8th generation console, the PlayStation 4, its successor to the popular PlayStation 3 console, during this year's E3. The PS4 is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2013.

PlayStation 4 will feature an AMD processor based around the x86-64 instruction set. This is intended to make video game development easier on the next-generation console, attracting a broader range of developers.

The PlayStation 4 will be available for $399, and is now open for pre-orders! Available games include Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III, Transistor, The Order: 1886, Knack, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and Infamous: Second Son.

UPDATE: Similar to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 will be region free and can use used games. Sadly, it do need a PlayStation Plus account for online play, but existing PlayStation Plus memberships will carry over to the PlayStation 4.

The console package will come with the following: 8GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive, a Blu-ray Disc drive, USB 3.0, Ethernet and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a wireless DualShock 4 controller, monoaural headet, electric power cord, HDMI cable, and a USB cable.
