Hajime no Ippo Anime Season 3 Confirmed


Weekly Shonen Manga announced that the George Morikawa's boxing manga Hajime no Ippo will be having its 3rd third anime season starting this fall. The announcement image reads, “Ippo fights the formidable enemy, Sawamura! Dempsey breaks down!?”

The new anime season will pick-up after the end of Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, after Mamoru Takamura became the WBC Junior Middleweight Champion after defeating Bryan Hawk. This season's highlight is Ippo Makunouchi's match against Ryuhei Sawamura, a boxer that stopped the former's special move, the Dempsey Roll.

    Small thought, wasn't Sawamura the fifth person that Ippo fought as a Title Defense? By the end of the second season he had fought in three Title Defenses, so we'll be getting another two during this season.
