On July 17th, a press event for the live-action film adaptation of the classic sci-fi anime “Science Ninja Team Gatchaman” was held. Here, lead star Tori Matsuzaka (Samurai Sentai Shinkenger) performs a wire stunt, similar on what he had done for the film.
A clip from a news footage featuring the "jump" can be viewed here, along with a few scenes from the film.
The five serve as agents of the International Science Organization in Tokyo in the near future. Galactor, a mysterious group whose technology far surpasses that of humans, has declared war on the entire world and has already subjugated half of it. A mysterious crystal-like object called a "stone," is humanity's only hope. Those who are able to draw out the power of the "stones" are forced to train to become special agents in a five-person team called "Gatchaman."
Directed by Toya Sato (Kaiji, Gokusen), with screenplay by Yūsuke Watanabe (20th Century Boys, Gantz, Bloody Monday, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods), Gatchaman premieres August 24th.
Is this film based on the Manga ?
ReplyDeleteAnd what about the anime Gatchaman Crowds ? Does it have anything to do with the manga storyline ?
Replying to your question:
ReplyDelete(1) Gatchaman did not based on the manga. They are based on animated series released by Tatsunoko Productions back in 1970s.
(2) I don't think Gatchaman Crowds have anything to do with the storyline, it just only a new series but with different styles and designs. In other words its more like spin-off series but with different storyline and different characters. That's all I know.
I felt sad that only few of Sentai actor managed to be popular actor while many of them only became supporting actors unlike actors from Kamen Rider.
ReplyDeleteLord Tori-san very work hard to became popular one.
