POWER/RANGERS: A Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Fan Film


Ever imagined a very dark, violent and gritty version of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers? Well here's your chance to watch a fan movie based on the franchise! Warning: expect violence, harsh languages and action!



This short, 14 minute fan-film is directed by Joseph Kahn and produced by Adi Shankar (Dredd 2012). It re-imagines the series in a dark manner and stars James Van Der Beek as a traitorous former comrade with Katie Sackhoff as an adult version of the Pink Ranger.

    As satire this is amazing. As a Power Rangers film... not so much. The philosophy of Power Rangers was that it was about hope against all odds and to never fear something stronger than yourself. This on the other hand is what happens when we have a gritty reboot of something that inspired hope.

      I didn't see it but I agree; not every reboot has to be dark and gritty.

    So true.
    I know it's an overused argument but I really want to say that this behavior is why the Japanese are better at this than the west.
    This reboot just shows how some people are too afraid to let go of their childhood and would gladly ruin it with gross adulterization rather than letting the new generation have their fun with it too

    japanese have been done what you're labeling as adulterization in akibaranger, this kind of metamorphing from one form of audiences to another is not a new thing, get used to it.

    Another MMPR fan film doomed to permanent obscurity like all the rest.

    Saban did a perfectly fine job of mucking up everything that made ZyuRanger good; we don't need folks making it any worse.

    You know what would be awesome? Putting time and effort into producing some original content instead of rehashing 1993 over and over again.
