Alright little kiddies, it's that time of the year again! Yes, it's that time again when dukemon22 gives us some rumors about the upcoming new Super Sentai series so read on after the break!
And here's what dukemon22 has for us:
The 40th anniversary Super Sentai series will have a combined motif of space (uchuu) and insect (muchuu).
Last time we seen have an insect Sentai hero was in Hurricanger in the form of Goraiger, and i almost forgot, Beet and Stagbuster from Go-Buster, and as for the space motiff, everybody knows it was Megaranger.
Again, we advice you to take this rumor with a grain of salt.

Technically the last team to use the space motif was Gokaiger. They were Space Pirates after all.

You do recall that Power Rangers in Space is the American adaptation OF Megaranger right?
DeleteHavnt seen seen Megaranger but My understanding the only thing space about it was the mecha were based off rockets and such. Saban actually assumed ot was about space but had to make some adjustments because it was about virtual reality.

ReplyDeleteI really don't see this being the theme. For one thing, it's going to be an anniversary season which means they would want to make it as big as possible.
ReplyDeleteThey have been repeating themes the last two Super Sentai seasons (dinosaur and ninjas). I won't be surprise if they are going for another repeat theme again.

ReplyDeletefirst off megaranger was video game based, but power rangers saw the space ship styled mech and made the whole season space themed. and yes gokiger where space pirates but they really only showed that the mech combined in space and were rarely in space as heroes.
ReplyDeleteas for the next season. i would love to see a full on space season but just dont do it like fourze. it could also be sort of a response to the popularity that chinese toku series Space Deleter. google it some time if you've never heard of it. as for the bug part.......i feel like space ship bugs would look to much like the zectors from kabuto since the gatack and kabuto zectors did seem space ship esc when flying to the rider
I sure hope the space theme is true. I really, really, REALLY want a space themed Sentai. A crossover with the Space Sherrifs, DekaMaster, Fourze and Super-1 would be godlike.
ReplyDeleteI want to see a mythical knight sentai for 40 anniversary! like red ranger is a prince that trying to find his father(king) and mother(queen) but they have to go against past sentai's villian and later his brother（joker) is the 6th ranger.

ReplyDeleteBeside, Dukemon is known to have a good source (he's working in japan right now, doh!), and most if not all of his scoop turns out to be correct. Remember the fashion Kamen Rider theme? Just see Ghost and his attributes.

Dukemon just pulls random anon chat from 2ch's Sentai topic. Literally an anonymous user posted "space + insects" and Dukemon posted it on rangerboard not too long after that. No proper source or credibility. The only reason the Japanese fans are even talking about space is because of Star Wars. Please don't believe that Dukemon has any sort of magical source because he doesn't.

Blue - Dragonfly
Green - Grasshopper
Yellow - Spider
Pink - Butterfly
Extra Ranger will be stag beetle.
DeleteAnd spiders are arachanids, not a bug. As an alternative, the Yellow should be based on the bee.
DeleteI think a Yokai theme would be fun (call it Yokaiger obviously). Toei could celebrate some Japanese culture plus it world make for a nice crossover with Ninninger (a la Gokaiger and Gingaman).

ReplyDeleteI think zodiacal force will be a good theme. The darkness tribe with a diabolic zord taking humans to feed itbm and 5 students chosen by zodiac constellation will be great. This is only my idea. I would like to see that.

ReplyDeletei wish the 2016 sentai could be another gokaiger series where we get to see all the past heroes making return like how they did in gokiager and in 2017 sentai should be a police themed sentai like dekaranger. i love police-themed drama and films
ReplyDeleteIf the insect motive is true, they can team up with KR Kabuto's riders, B-Fighters, Goraiger as well as Beetbuster and Stagbuster in future Super Heroes Taisen movie. As for me, the red one might be using the ant motive in regards of Marvel's Ant Man. They might be three-man team this time around, so the blue one should be using stag or rhino beetle motive and the yellow one either bee, wasp or stinger.
ReplyDeleteIf it is five-man team, the green one could be grasshopper and the pink or white one could be praying mantis because I have seen pink and white praying mantis before..
DeleteThe sixth (gold/black/silver) can use either dragonfly, spider or scorpion motive but he will use this three as his zords like the Silver Gaoranger does.
DeleteI had always wish and hope that the future sentai theme/ motive would be:

fairies+music,
knights+dragons,
western monsters (vampire, werewolf, etc)...
I also had wish that the insects motive would be nice and the rumor makes me so excited, even more if it came true. So, I will keep hoping that any of the above motives would come true in the future.
Katana+swordsmen or swordsmen+dragons theme please..called it Katana Sentai Kenshinger or Kenshi Sentai Ryukenger
ReplyDeleteIf this is in regards of the recent anime series Terra Formars, it will be ironically funny yet interesting if the villain would be the evolved roaches from Mars.

I think it would be good show if we have rangers that come from distopic future, trying understand some kind of universal values like: family, freedom, friendship, hope, love, faith etc. Maybe they can create a original mythology too. It would be interesting do not see animals or technological equipaments for one year, right?
