I felt it for awhile now but KR has been declining since it reached it's peaked with Gaim. No show will ever top that series. Drive was a worthy successor but still pales in comparison to Gaim. Even recycled "W" motifs won't save this franchise.
Gaim has been my favorite series since it aired and I'll always be biased toward it but I have to disagree with that guy who said that Kamen Rider peaked with Gaim and has been declining since. The show was good, yes, but it wasn't problem free and the fact that a ton of Rider fans put it on some unrealistic pedestal only diminishes the enjoyment they might get out of future shows. Build had a strong first episode, arguably stronger than Gaim's, setting up a likable protagonist and interesting mysteries to be solved throughout the next few months. It also doesn't hurt that toy sales have been consistently strong the past few years, which is all that really matters for the continuation of these shows.
TL;DR Kamen Rider didn't peak with Gaim, is hardly declining and the franchise doesn't need to be "saved."
Oh please. Gaim is so overrated. People really need to stop orgasaming over it. It was just Urobuchi recycling the same plot he originally nicked from Ryuuki. I found most of the following series enjoyable, and this one looks a lot of fun too.
what's a good site to watch this on? The one I used to use doesn't work anymore
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if anyone else noticed this: One of the three nations in Build shares the same name as the hospital in Ex-Aid.
ReplyDeleteSeito right? Because there's Seito University Hospital.
DeleteThe best episode 1 ever!

ReplyDeleteAnon #4. If you could stop saying subjective opinions and pretending that they're legitimately objective that would be great
DeleteI think Build just killed real human during the chase scene
ReplyDeletedid anybody know where to get the wirstwatch like sento kiryu?
