The official Pokemon YouTube channel started streaming a promotional video confirming a new Eevee evolution for the latest installments of the Pokemon game franchise, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. It will be called SYLVEON.

Meet Sylveon, a newly discovered evolution of Eevee! Eevee first appeared in the original Pokémon video games,Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue. Experienced Pokémon Trainers know that Eevee can evolve into seven different types, and now a new Eevee evolution with a different type has been revealed! What type is Sylveon? You'll have to wait to find out!Eevee is one of the original Pokemon roster that started back in Pokemon Red and Blue, and since then, it appeared in concluding generations, gaining newly "discovered" evolutions. It can evolve using Water (Vaporeon), Thunder (Jolteon) or Fire Stones (Flareon), having a high friendship during the day (Espeon) or night (Umbreon), or leveling up near Moss (Leafeon) or Ice Rock (Glaceon).
Along with Sylveon, there are six known Pokemons for Generation VI: the three starters Pokemons — Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie — and this installment's Legendaries — Xerneas and Yveltal. Pokemon X & Pokemon Y will be available for the Nintendo 3DS, and are scheduled to be released worldwide this October.

Any guesses on what type it'll be, I say flying!
The japanese name Ninfia seems to hint that the naming came from Nymph... so many people are already suggesting that this is a flying/bug type. If not, probably a new type rumored to be introduced (Light?)
Eevee eighth evolution... Let the rumor avalanche begin!
@anony4:22 given the history of the "Eevee"lutions the american names have always given the hint of the type it was Vaporeon = vapor = water, Jolteon = jolt = electric, Flareon = flare = fire, Espeon = esp = psychic, Umbreon (not so sure for umbreon), Leafeon = Leaf = grass type, Glaceon = glacier = ice. now lets break down the name in the same if not similar fashion Sylveon sounds like Silv = silver = metal........so with that said i am going to say that Sylveon is of a Steel type
I think its an only female evolution type
Umbreon=Umbra=Dark
Probably will just evolve using a shiny stone or something and be a Normal type just like Eevee.
