Kamen Rider Gaimu Copyright Registered

After all the rumors we had in the past week, TOEI had finally registered the copyright and trademark for the 2013-2014 Kamen Rider series. He will be called KAMEN RIDER GAIMU. It will also be having the kanji 鎧武 for Armored Warrior/Armored Martial Arts.

Looks like it's going to be based on Chinese Mythology

  2. Isn't that Kamen Rider Gaimu, not Gamu?

  3. Anonymous Says:

KR Gamu? It just doesn't ring that well :\

  4. Anonymous Says:

    It's Kamen Rider GAIMU/GAIM.

  5. marty Says:

If its true that gamu means armored martial arts then we can finally see a kamen rider with a martial arts theme ! I AM SO EXCITED! but i wonder if the next theme will be about the return to its cyborg roots maybe in nanobite form.

  6. Anonymous Says:

I wonder if he'll be similar to Tessai or Utchy from Kyorugers. Either a hardcore martial artist or an honorable manly dude......or another pretty boy with some kinda hidden depths

  7. Anonymous Says:

The link for full read article is broken.

OT: Nice name, but it reminds me to Gamou Sagittarius :/

  8. Anonymous Says:

A martial Arts theme? Something tells me that this is gonna be a dark series.

  9. Anonymous Says:

wonder what powers he will have?

  10. Anonymous Says:

Heck yea!!! I love the martial arts in gekirangers, i hope this would be good too.

  11. WWhen the new chapter of the KR series??

  12. Anonymous Says:

Isn't Meteor (ala Bruce Lee) already Kamen Rider Martial Arts?

  13. @Anon June 13, 2013 at 12:00 PM
Not really that much. He only knows martial arts but still the series is space themed. This time it is a martial arts themed series which I hope he doesn't have much changing forms and relies on but different martial arts stances which he needs to master by the end of the series.

  14. Gaimu sounds like romanji for game which would be awesome and there hasn't been a manly Kamen Rider since Ryuki so I hope to see a manly Kamen Rider.

  15. I SERVE NONE BUT KORROK Says:

Videogame themed perhaps? Makes me think of Megaranger...

  16. Anonymous Says:

im pretty sure that kamen rider break/succeed will be the second rider..

  17. Anonymous Says:

karate form, kungfu form, taekwondo form, boxing form?? =)

  18. Kirtro Says:

    @Anon 11:06 AM

    "GAIM"? Whats a "GAIM"?

    *walks into the Gym*

    Oooooooooh a "GAAAAAAIM"

  19. Anonymous Says:

kamen rider GAY mu ? lol

  20. Undead Hearts. Says:

Do you mean the series or the character?Because Shinji wasn't manly at all. He wss clearly naive/gullible.

  21. Anonymous Says:

hopefully this means that he wont be a break dancing kamen rider.im hoping for a dark series and more mature this time around simiar to how dark the kamen rider hibiki series was.

  22. Anonymous Says:

    I think you mean hibiki.

  23. Anonymous Says:

    @ Anon at 4:15
KR Hibiki wasn't planned to be a Kamen Rider. I think the darkest " real " hensei rider series is Faiz, and sure that didn't do quite well for the kids...

  24. neotristram Says:

    Kamen Rider Gaimu???

    Kamen Rider Game???

Could it possibly be a video game-based Kamen Rider?

  25. Anonymous Says:

It's a kids show so if tori wants to loose viewers like they did with hibiki than yeah why not

  26. Bryd0 Says:

Haha, so it isn't that break-dancing twit named Break. What a relief. Anyway, I'm looking forward to how this series will turn out, especially of what this Rider will look like. My guess is that he'll look like a samurai given his name (as it contains the kanji for "armour" and "warrior"). Or he could be the ninja Rider that everyone's been raving about.

  27. Unknown Says:

Maybe he will use different weapons which can be used to catalase different types of energy, that would be interesting.

  28. Anonymous Says:

I hope there are more than 5 rider in this series, so each rider got their own fighting style and themes and they fight each other

  29. Bryd0 Says:

@neotristram: I don't think his name relates to "game" at all. His name is "GAI-mu", whereas "game" is read as ゲーム (GEY-mu). Just saying.

  30. Anonymous Says:

uuh no they didnt lose ratings with hibiki its in the top 6 as one of the highest rated kamen rider shows in the heisei era.and its much deserved because its not a bad series.just because YOU didnt like it doesnt mean the views were low.

  31. Anonymous Says:

This is very interesting stuff. Although I was hoping for a hi-tech kamen rider this year, kamen rider with a martial arts theme would be just as good. A new theme that hasn't been done yet in kamen rider. Just think of all the cool forms the rider can have. The protagonist can be a world fighter who wants to master all fighting techniques from around the world.

His default form could be karate based for Japan.
While his other form changes could be kung fu, muay thai, boxing, Brazilian jujutsu etc... That would so fucking awesome.

I hope it is a martial arts theme. Thank goodness it wasnt some gay break dancing rider. And as for all you people who think it's video game themed please stop because it would dumb if they did that.

  32. Anonymous Says:

I'm not going to lie, I was hoping for break but this sounds cool too.

I have so many questions though. Like plot? Cast? Desgin? Weapons? Is it a samurai since its armored/warrior? But I guess we'll get more info later.

  33. Anonymous Says:

    Sounds like a Ranma Fanfic

  34. Interesting! I'm looking forward to both Wizard's endgame and this new Rider. (And I wouldn't mind him being manly, if he's an adorable dweeb like Hibiki or Shouichi at the same time, or suave like Kitaoka... Other than that, I prefer it when the main rider is a pretty boy. More easy on the eyes.)

I wouldn't call Hibiki overly dark, personally. It's got a lot of humor and I know I laughed out loud several times. It's the kind of humor that I recognize from Wizard, which makes sense, since Kida worked on both those shows, for starters. I have to agree that Faiz is one of the darkest heisei shows (I'd say it's darker than Ryuki, in a way.) and I loved it... So I wouldn't mind a darker series this time around... Even if I'd say that Wizard's pretty dark as well, even if it's mostly on the psychological level. ... And I'm babbling far too much OOPS

  35. Anonymous Says:

Quite stoked about this! But just one question though, how will this series portray the number 6 if Toei continues the number scheme?

  36. Anonymous Says:

oh man, i've been dreaming of a chinese mythology/martial arts tokusatsu! kamen rider sun wukong (monkey king). main weapon would be a golden staff and his bike would be related to a cloud or something

  37. Anonymous Says:

Gaimu's images have already been leaked before the copyright resigtration. He uses a katana as a
weapon, to change his form change and use an ability.

  38. Anonymous Says:

We can see right, kr w use 2 gaia memory, kr ozu use 3 core medal, kr fourze use 4 switch to henshin, and kr wizard use 5 finger and ring to henshin. This rider use 6 what?

  39. Anonymous Says:

based from the images that had already been leaked before, he got 6 "small katana" which he inserted in his belt to change form. quite lovely, i quess.

  40. Bryd0 Says:

@Anonymous June 14, 2013 2:39 PM: Got a link to the image of this Rider and weapon? I'm very interested to know.

  41. Anonymous Says:

I hope its Chinese martial arts like Dairanger and go back to its roots with a cyborg/bug theme

  42. Thomas Says:

Well this is.... interesting, I guess. Doesn't sound that pleasing, but oh well. I think all the rampant speculation is out of control, though. Do you really think he's going to be more like a Showa Rider? I doubt it. It'd be nice, but I highly doubt it. Why? Money. Bandai wants to make money. They need gimmicks and lots of toys to make money. Fourze and Wizard are good examples of that.

As for the name, if anyone is still confused, it's pronounced "guy-mu", although the "u" will probably be devoiced and end up making it sound more like "guym". But it's romanised as "Gaimu" or "Gaim".

If anyone wants more Japanese lessons.... go study Japanese, because I'm busy with my own studies.
