Honedge is the New Sword Pokémon in Pokémon X & Y Version

The official website for the latest installments of the Pokémon game franchise, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Versions reveals that the newly announced sword Pokémon will be called Honedge.

Honedge's Pokédex data is as follows:
It comes into being when a departed spirit inhabits a sword that once belonged to humans. It can use the blue cloth attached to its hilt as nimbly as an arm. If you were to carelessly take this blade in hand, you may find that blue cloth wrapping around you...draining the energy from your body!

Honedge can learn Swords Dance, which largely increases the user's attack.

Your adventure takes place in the Kalos region, home to beautiful skies and forests! The Kalos region is full of interesting places to visit and explore! Pokémon X & Pokémon Y will be available for the Nintendo 3DS, and are scheduled to be released worldwide this October 12th. Pre-order now at Play-Asia and get FREE SHIPPING!

Neat design, nice name, I think this pokemon is great!

  5. so soul edge should also considered as a pokemon, knowing that all you need is to put an eye on a sword and called it a pokemon

@anon2 oh they jumped the shark long ago with generation 4. It's already downhill. Wow a sword with an eye on it. That's so amazing. I can't believe you people think it's cool. Either you're stubborn, a little kid or you are just straight up lying. It sucks, end it already.

  7. Anonymous Says:

cool i heard the next pokemon will be a shield with a nose on it

  8. KamenRiderHowl Says:

The two anon's complaining saying everything is downhill just for a pokemon that looks like what its based on, Voltorb enough said.
As for sleepyEyes, I'm gonna guess you missed its sheather form and the fact that its sheath is every bit as part of it so its not just adding an eye, its also the very fine details that matter as well. Like the lines on its blade making a face through the holes on its sheath.

And if some of you find it suck, why bother reading this blog post and even more, commenting badly? I don't see any benefit for any of you to do that. Don't like it then don't get it & don't even bother to keep up with the info while whining here and there about going downhill or things like that. Cause that's exactly what people called "stubborn, little kid behavioir and NOT cool" haha

@anon3 oh and a ball with eyes, magnets, and screws stuck to it or a ball with eyes that evolves into the same ball with a smile is sooooooo much better.

You think a sword with an eye sucks? Sucks about as much as a magnet with an eye, don't it? Hypocrites.
There have always been Pokemon whose deigns have been based off inanimate objects, so do yourselves a favor and take off your nostalgia goggles.
Personally, I love every single one of these new Pokemon, including Honedge, and I definitely plan to use this haunted sword on my team.
