Manga "How Osamu Tezuka Created His Black Jack" Resumes in September

It was recently announced by Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine that Miyazaki Masaru and Yoshimoto Kouji's manga "The Untold Story of How Osamu Tezuka Created His Black Jack" (Black Jack Sôsaku Hiwa - Tezuka Osamu no Shigotoba Kara) resumes in the magazine's 42nd issue on September 19th.

In the said manga, Miyazaki and Yoshimoto tell the real story behind the creation of Osamu Tezuka's (Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion, Phoenix) Black Jack, a classic story of a brillint maverick doctor. They see to it that their creation would give accurate and true information by having the people at Tezuka's studio share their behind-the-scenes participation.

Aside from the manga's comeback, there would also be a live-action TV adaptation this fall starring SMAP's Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (Ballad: Namonaki Koi no Uta, The Diary of Anne Frank, Yume o Kanaeru Zō) as Osamu Tezuka and Sato Koichi (Sukiyaki Western Django, Kamui Gaiden) as Kabemura Taizo, Tezuka's editor-in-chief at Weekly Shonen Champion. The said TV series will be about a present-day rookie editor, which will be played by AKB48's Oshima Yuko, who travels back in Tezuka's time.
