As of March 31st, the Pokémon game franchise had already sold 172 million units of related titles worldwide, since the release of the first ever game, Pokémon Red and Green (Blue in the US) in 1996. This was announced during the Pokémon Game Show last weekend.
The latest installments, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y manages to get over 260,000 pre-orders in its first two days of pre-sale since it opened last August 10th.
