How Imagi's "Gatchaman" Film Should've Looked Like

Video footages from the defunct CGI-animated Gatchaman film by the animation studio IMAGI Studios surfaces online, all thanks to Slashfilm's latest report. After a trailer that was released in 2010, the film got cancelled a year after.

Former IMAGI Head of Layout and DP Adam Holmes uploaded a few pieces of animation from this project, in many different stages of production, including a previsualization of the film's car chase and an animation demo.

Additionally, IMAGI storyboarder Tom Nelson had also uploaded an animatic for the movie.

Imagi began development of a film in 2004, and announced the film for 2008, and later moved to 2011 release in stereoscopic 3D. Since the 2009 Astroboy film failed in the box office, the studio lacked funding to complete the release of Gatchaman and two other films, and announces in 2011 that it is officially cancelled.
