Japanese magazine Uchuusen recent issue features an interview with Kamen Rider Gaim's main director, Ryuta Tasaki. He stated some reasons on the use of dance themes, references on past Kamen Rider series and some bits on the upcoming Sengoku Movie Battle.
Tasaki reveals that it was writer Gen Urobuchi's idea to add dance scenes in the TV series as a part of young people growing up and start to see things from different perspectives to become responsible adults. And since the show will also have a "Warring States" theme, each dance team will settle disputes using their respective Kamen Riders.
He comments on Urobuchi's work, "I think it’s easily accessible for the first time viewers though. But the thing is even if the first episodes are easily accessible there’s so many twists waiting to happen, it’s all just a clever trap."
When it comes to the number of riders in the show, Tasaki stated that it was producer Naomi Takebe's idea to break into the two Kamen Riders per series thing, and since Urobuchi loves Kamen Rider Ryuki's use of multiple riders, she gave it a go. "So Takebe told us to use the multiple Riders and make Kamen Rider Gaim more drama-like."
Tasaki added that Takebe asked Urobuchi to go back to early Heisei, and together, they put a lot of Heisei references in the first 2 episodes. This includes the use of multiple riders similar to Kamen Rider Ryuki, and the similarities between 555's Smart Brain and Gaim’s Yggdrasill. "The truth is, it’s all Urobuchi’s trap. He’s building up a story that most fans are used too, only to tear it down with new and surprising twists."
The design of Kamen Rider Gaim's suit didn't really bother Tasaki, as he have stated that he's used to such designs, and waited for the real suit worn by suit actor Seiji Takaiwa in action. But he admits that Baron’s banana ears shocks him. "I would’ve never thought of putting together fruits with armors for a toy. But that’s the beautiful thing about it."
Tasaki also reveals that the staff favorite is Kamen Rider Gridon, and he personally liked Gridon's little hammer. He asks viewers to pay attention as the character debuts.
Lastly, director Tasaki reveals that the 14 Heisei Kamen Riders that will debut in Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: Decisive! Sengoku MOVIE Battle will be called the "Warrior God Riders".

Okay so this gaim has urbuchis usual darker and edgier element thing in other words usual deconstruction in this season although it will have a bit of reconstruction but you know what i think that this theme which is warring states theme should have been used for the revival/sequel series of henshin ninja arashi but this time set in the 70s and it will have darker element with urbuchis darker theme but with the motif of birds.
I'm loving Gaim. So much fun. The dancing scenes are really the only thing I don't like. But those little references to past heisei rider shows are awesome. If you notice the Yggdrasill corporation commercial in episode 1, it's basically like 555's Smart Brain commercial. Life is short, life is limited. And Gaim's mouthpiece reminds me of Kuuga. I can't wait to see what happens. We are getting traps and twists. I can't wait to see it unravel. My prediction is riders will definitely die. Most likely Ryugen or Zangetsu. And the Yggdrasill corporation is actually the good guys.
Calling it right now. This series will likely be as dark as W. I am also pretty certain that, if W had more riders, they would have offed some of them.

Gaim follows the same path like faiz and ryuuki. but less dramatic and more action. I love it. W is not darker than kiva, and Gaim is not dark at all. but rather have twisting story
