One Piece Manga: 300 Million in Print


Comics News No.181 digital magazine announces that Eiichiro Oda's pirate adventure manga One Piece will now have 300 million copies in print once the 72nd volume, "Dressrosa's Forgotten", gets released this November 1st. One Piece is considered as one of the best selling manga today.

The announcement notes it is an "unprecedented" achievement, and reads, "Thank you to all the book store employees who kept the manga selling!" By comparison, Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga had approximately 156.6 million copies in print, while Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga had approximately 126.5 million copies. The numbers are as of February 2012.

One Piece Volume 72 "Dressrosa's Forgotten" Summary:
In the Colosseum, Don Chinjao is impressed by Luffy's Haoshoku Haki, and latter states that he aims to be the Pirate King. Meanwhile at the Green Bit, Trafalgar Law is barely holding his defense against Issho and Doflamingo's assault.
