It was announced that actress Mirei Kiritani (Ando Lloyd, Ace Attorney) will lead the cast of Yuichi Fukuda’s (Hentai Kamen, Hero Yoshihiko) upcoming tokusatsu movie Joshizu. This will be Kiritani's first starring role in an action sentai flick.

Excited for her role, Kiritani mentioned that she’s been watching sentai hero TV programs with her brother since she was little and felt her tension rise the moment she first wore the costume, adding that she’s practiced cool hero poses several times.

In Joshizu, Kiritani will play the character of Naoko Akagi, a busy career-oriented woman who’s selected to fight against a mysterious villain. She will be the "Red" of the team.

Five women with vastly different backgrounds, Commander Charles assembles the team “Joshizu” includes the overly serious Red, the fashionable Blue, the wealthy heiress Navy, the dirt poor Yellow, and the aspiring theater troupe member Green, with each member of the team's surnames having the Japanese words for specific colors! Together, they can utilize their special attack, the “Joshi Tornado”. In spite of their doubts, the team is abruptly thrown into a fight against a supervillain.

Joshizu is scheduled to be released in Japan in early summer 2014.
