One Direction to Sing for Say "I Love You" Live-Action Film

The British boy band One Direction would be taking part on the upcoming Sukitte Ii na yo (Say "I Love You") live-action film through their song "Happily".

"Happily" was included in One Direction's Midnight Memories album. Based on records, it has sold over 4,500,000 copies worldwide and 400,000 copies in Japan alone. The staff members reasoned out why they chose this song is that "because of the gorgeous melody and lyrics that make the heart beat are perfect for this movie's world. So we made an offer to the band since we had nothing to lose by trying."

Say "I Love You" is a story about 16-year old high school girl, Tachibana Mei who never made friends nor have a boyfriend until such day when she accidentally injures Kurosawa Yamato who happens to be the most popular guy in school. With that encounter, Yamato got interested in Mei and declared that he has intentions of making friends with her though one-sided. He also happened to kiss Mei in order to protect her from a stalker.

The film stars with Kawaguchi Haruna (Ouran High SChool Host Club) as Tachibana Mei and Fukushi Sota (Kamen Rider Fourze) as Kurosawa Yamato.
