Takara Tomy, the toy company that is responsible for bringing us those transforming alien robots known as Transformers is planning of teaming-up the Cybertronians with NERV's giant mechas, the Evas.

Details for the Transformers x Evangelion team-up is still under secrecy but an ad from this month's hobby magazine shows Optimus Prime in an EVA Unit-1 color scheme complete with the NERV logo on his right shoulder with the magazine ad giving us a special peek at the crossover's story:

The Angels are invading. Breaking the long silence, the mysterious life-forms known as the Angels suddenly appear. The weapons that the UN forces gather together in retaliation can't even touch them. In the end, they turn to the secret agency, NERV, to manage the anti-angel strategy.

With Neo-Tokyo 3 in their sights, the Angels slowly advance upon the city... but suddenly, a spaceship comes hurtling down the sky above the Angels: the Autobot Sky lynx! Out of the ship emerges warriors of the far-off planet Cybertron. They've come to investigate after noticing an unusual energy reading.

"We can't let a disaster like the 2nd impact occur on this planet."
"What?! What are this monsters?!"

Optimus Prime sets his sights on an enemy much bigger than himself.

A 30th Anniversary site was also opened by Takara Tomy and Nippon Television will hold a Transformers Expo this coming August.
