A week ago we asked our readers which Super Sentai Monster-of-the-Week is most memorable and why do they think that monster is most memorable. We never expected to have a lot of returns for this category, so to those who have participated, thank you!
Each MOTW is special on its own, that's what we found out after asking our readers. Out of the number of entries we received we picked 10 MOTW to grace us(or terrorize us) with their presence. Let's hear what our readers has to say about them.
Most Memorable Monsters from Super Sentai
*In no particular order.
Hades Warrior God Cyclops
Mahou Sentai Magiranger
I don't know he would be eligible, since he appeared in more than 2 episodes, but I really couldn't think of another monster.
Cyclops was different from the usual "destroy everything at sight" or "mess with the humans" monsters. His approach was to play mind games to screw the rangers and boy, did he do it. His sniping managed to break 2 of the rangers' minds and he would have succeed if one of them didn't figure out his game. And their confrontation was the most badass shootout I've ever seen, a scene that, sadly, didn't go to Mystic Force.
To me, Cyclops is iconic due to his awesome design and mind blowing approach to fight the rangers. It was truly amazing to see him bite the dust the way he did.
Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuranger
This monster gave the Zyurangers the most trouble. Not only did Dora Franke overpower Daizyujin and Dragon Ceaser once is was "Defeated" it mutated into a stronger form. This monster was by far Bandora's best....even thought the Zyurangers still prevailed
Enjin Sentai Go-Onger
Never have I seen another furnace themed kaijin in my life that is not only kinda evil and industrial, but absurdly memorable design wise. I will never forget the furnace with the face.
- Mr. T
Himitsu Sentai Gorenger
The first MOTW to be able to kill a ranger member ( he was able to kill the 1st Kiranger by stabbing him ).
- Ivan V
Steam Engine Org
Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger
It was the most powerful monster of the week in the first sentai series I watched and it just straight up overpowered the rangers and injured many of their zords.
Ressha Sentai ToQger
Because his scheme is to pull victims & send them to his coffin. When I imagine about him existing somewhere else in real world, he can be the greatest nightmare. Also, he sings a lullaby that makes us feel what death is.
Kyouyryuu Sentai Zyuranger
With now 40 Sentai series. I want to pick something golden for the U.S. Eyes. Zyuranger's Dora Knight. He only appeared one episode but just the action and plot brought this monster to life. The episode was Mammoth Ranger Goshi origin. But anyway the monster was a knight armed with sword and shield and its blade would corrode the heroe's weapons especially the Moth Breaker Axe. Dora Knight's design is both cool and nightmarish.
Yeah we all seen it in MMPR, but I like to go back to the root of the originator.
- Cyber9989Dora Pig/Dora Circe
Kyouyryuu Sentai Zyuranger
Because the whole episode dealt with eating food and it was a great one if I do say so myself.
Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger
He's kinda lot of goofy MOTW and a badass at the first sight, but turns out to be a cute and funny when he's admits his love to Insarn and becomes obsessive to crush Gokaigers to prove his love.
Kousoku Sentai Turboranger
He is only the monster who didn't not fight violently and it's for the sake of the sport ( Sumo ) but after he defeated fair and square by turbo black he died in satisfaction and a smile in the face.
- Fran K Torre
We have noticed an amount of entries coming from the Kyouyryuu Sentai Zyuranger series. The show's monsters seem to have the most number of memorable monsters.
