Announced February 10 to celebrate the game's 30th year anniversary this year, a Dragon Quest Live Spectacle Tour is set this summer. Singer Shoko Nakagawa is cast as Otenba Princess Alena for the said tour. Nakagawa excited says, "This is a dream job, I'm seriously and willing to bet all my life on this."
Series creator and game designer, Yuji Horii has evaluated Nakagawa's strong voice acting performance and her deep love for the character Alena during last year when they launched the Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below. With that evaluation she was able to get the role of Alena.
Nakagawa says, "This event is precious or historical. I can't put into words the shock and joy that I am feeling." The tour requires an acrobatic performance in which she has not experienced yet. "To play the beautiful and noble Princess Alena I need to put a never ending effort. I want it to be an absolutely great show. I want to challenge myself in tring the step kick during the tour."
The performance is schedules starting at Saitama Super Arena on July 22 to 31, then at Marine Messe Fukuoka on August 5 to 7, Nagoya and NGK Isulators Hall on August 12 to 14, in Osaka Castle Hall on August 18 to 22 and Yokohama Arena on August 26 to 31. The tour is scheduled to be attended by a total of 40 million people from all five cities.
