    Oh god that fucking gammaiser. It looks like the worst of bayformers and the fact that it needs two people inside makes it look even more ridiculous the way it moves around. And who edited it when it was running away last episode it looked even more stupid. Ugh ghost!
    Also nice work on Grateful guys. Transient helmet but still all the eyecon symbols.

  4. There's a lot wrong with this scene. For one thing the design of the creature makes just about everything it does look silly and no doubt made it impossible for the stunt team to come up with anything resembling exciting choreography. Which is probably also why the scene is so short.

    Additionally Grateful Damashii is made out to be almost completely useless again. Takeru did nothing with the form except summon a few heroes to rescue that guy which is important to the plot of the week but carries no weight in the ongoing story.

    I've been saying this for a while but one of the shows bigger missteps was the introduction of Grateful Damashii. We're told that the Heroes are the secret weapon that are meant to counter the Gammizer but every time Takeru uses the form, which let me remind you pools all the supposedly amazing powers of the Heroic Eyecons together he gets his but kicked and has to use his better power up to defeat them for good. The repetition of this makes the heroes seem useless and by extension makes the hunt for the Eyecons at the beginning of the series almost pointless if not for the fact that the wish it facilitated resolved Makoto's initial story line.

    It would have been so much better for the show in the long run I feel if they had given the ability to summon the Heroes to Mugen Damashii and dropped Greatful all together and I say that as someone who likes the design of both forms.

    And finally the effects just feel lazy in this scene. The finisher effect has has no speed or power behind it and the parka ghost's look so incredibly boring and lifeless when compared to the earlier episodes where they were so animated. Remember the time in episode 2 where the Ore Ghost danced around Takeru while it waited for him to push the lever? Or the time in episode 3 where Edison recoiled in fear when Denki Gamma jumped to absorb him? Or all the times where the Parka Ghost's struck a pose when they were revealed for the first time? For the most part all they do at this point is fly around the heroes for a few seconds before falling on them.

    Ghost had a lot of potential and the story on paper is really interesting, its essentially an alien invasion with a twist and thats really cool, too bad the execution is so poor. Here's hoping that it can stick the landing and that Ex-Aid does better.

    @TheMangaKid1995:

    Totally agree. I'm really bummed that it's basically become the opposite of Drive, in that it started out really strong in the beginning and middle, but has started to decline in quality towards the end.

    It feels like they knew what they were doing around the time of the ganma world arc, but then they just sort of ran out of ideas. Did they switch writers half-way through or something?
