Gokaiger Crossover, Anyone? 😳

I've watched only up to episode 3 and I must say: There are a few rangers that I hate more than Raptor (Gosei Knight, Gokai Silver, Hurricane Blue, Blue Dolphin and Bouken Yellow are the ones who surpass her). I really hope her characterization and fighting scenes are good, because her looks are like bullets in my eyes.

My thoughts on Kyuranger range from mixed to negative, and this episode is no different. I like how beneath Raptor's seriousness, she is a daydreamer who longs to join the Kyurangers despite being built for piloting and secretary purposes. Also, I kind of like how Spada sort of acts as a big brother figure who reins in Raptor's delusions. It's not a particularly unique characterization as everyone else but Lucky, finds her delusions troubling but, it is most characterization I have gotten from Spada for the past few episodes. Lastly, Raptor's debut as Washi Pink was pretty impressive, particularly shooting down homing missles while dual wielding the kyu shot and seiza blaster. Unfortunately, I hate to sound like a broken record but, Lucky was the biggest problem of the episode.
His reckless naivety is always framed as right even when he risks endangering Raptor and the children taken hostage. When Spada brings up valid reasons as to why Raptor can't fight such as not being programmed for it or her delusions nearly getting her killed by the monster, the scene frames him as the asshole. Lucky in contrast, is framed as entirely despite Spada being proven right earlier. Lucky then proceeds to bring out cliche bullshit about having dreams is enough to fight and drags her into the battlefield where she nearly gets killed again. Whats worse is that Lucky has the fucking gall to call out Spada for being a shitty friend and compare him to the monster of the week when Spada was just concerned about her safety. Also, Lucky telling off the parents who stop the group after being blackmailed by Jark Matter that they'll hurt their children if the kyurangers retaliate comes off as incredibly insensitive. The parents are by no means entirely in the right, but their fears are very understandable, and Lucky rushing in as well as telling them that having no dreams is just as bad as being dead is a dick move. On a random note, if Raptor considers the Orion her uncle, then who does she consider her dad.

I knew it. From episode one i knew this was gonna happen though i didnt think it would be this early. So this episode is the first time the kyurangers come to earth [and will be sticking around for while] and jark matter has already taken over. So thats there continuity with Zyuohger completely fucked because they showed up in zyuoh vs Ninnin which is set before the series ended and there's still the returns movie. I mean we all knew that they would just forget about Zyuohgers ending at some point during a later season [the fact that this hasn't and never will be brought up in ex-aid is Proof enough but kyuranger could of avoided this if they had just kept the whole series in space]. I mean i know this has always been a problem because each series [rider and sentai] has to have there own separate continuity from the larger continuity [because Toei wants all series in the same universe [which should explain why amazons & dino force brave are in the new taisen] even if it contradicts other seasons. But just like the newton eyecon from Drive: surprise future this a literal plot hole that means the two series cant take place in the same timeline.
