And it has been confirmed! After the recent Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger movie party post by Akio Ootsuka that was deleted minutes after it was posted, in which the image featured one actor that was rumored to be the next Kyuranger, it is now confirmed that Minami Keisuke is the one who will portray the Phoenix Soldier!
Yes folks, Minami Keisuke will portray the role of Tsurugi Ootori, the Phoenix Soldier, a legendary warrior who was put in suspended animation aboard the legendary ship, Argo then later to be awakened by the Kyurangers.
The Phoenix Soldier will command the legendary ship, the Argo, which also houses the components of his personal mecha, the Gigant Phoenix.

Seems like a nice concept. Kind of remind me of Zhane in PR: In Space.
I'm not really fond of having another red ranger in the team. I was hoping we could have a white ranger as the new one, but that's just a minor complaint.

Well, guess that means Scorpio is done for. Lmao
I like his backstory, though. I just hope we don't get the usual "I have to be evil, and fight you guys first" cliche.
Let's count the references, shall we?
- Magiranger - Obviously, the visor and Phoenix Theme. Him being a legendary warrior who was sealead can be a reference to MagiShine
- Dekaranger - The suit reminds me of the main Dekaranger suits. His helmet design (sans the visor) reminds me o Swat mode
- Changeman - His name, color and weapon of choice seem like a huge shout out to Change Dragon. Check his iconic battle with Bubba and be amazed. His mecha kind of reminds me of Change Robo (only in form, thank god. Change Robo is the uglyest).
Does this Tsurugi guy also an earthling? Cause I couldn't believe that an alien actually has a Japanese name....
