News Flash! Hasbro Acquires License For Power Rangers Toyline

And it's finally confirmed! Thanks to this news from Hollywood Reporter, it is finally confirmed that Hasbro has acquired the license for the Power Rangers toy line after Bandai ends it partnership next April 2019! Read this follow-up report to the news that was posted earlier!

Here's what Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner told Heat Vision regarding this announcement from this year's New York Toy Fair:

"We’re particularly excited to partner together to help reignite and drive this brand for the next 25 years and more. It’s a partnership that is very collaborative and feels very good to us to be in business with Saban and to help power Power Rangers.

We’re particularly excited to introduce the brand to the youngest Power Rangers fans, but we’ve also talked for many years about the growth and development of the fan economy.

We do believe that fans today have more interest in, and more access to, fan-oriented products. The online retailing world allows us to retail products at higher price points, along with conventions, to move product that are aimed at older fans.

You can only imagine with the amazing creativity of the Power Rangers show, as well as Haim’s own creativity, that this allows for some very exciting things as we move forward.
"

It is also said that this partnership is a result of a long understanding friendship between the creator of the Power Rangers franchise, Haim Saban, and Hasbro's Brian Goldner back in the early days of the franchise.

Now, imagine the possibilities that this partnership will make for the future of the series in the next 25 years!

Special thanks to Jerry McDougald and Brian Rommel for the heads'up and confirmation!

  1. Hopefully this means future Ranger toys will be of higher quality than what we got recently.

  2. So they will rebrand Bandai's Sentai toys to Hasbro?

  3. So weird... Sentai is partly owned by Bandai on Japan, yet its counterpart is going to be handled by Hasbro?

By the way, I do hope that means Bandai of Japan will have the american branch seriously rethink how they operate. Lose such brand, after so much time has passed can really harm a company's image.
