We all know that some fans have dreamed of being a tokusatsu star (to be honest, including yours truly) someday. But what if that dream is not as easy as we think it is? Let our favorite girl from Kamen Rider Club, Yoshiko Sengen (formerly Fumika Shimizu) who portrayed Yuki Jojima share us her difficult times at the set of Kamen Rider Fourze.
According to Yoshiko, when she was still working at her former agency, Lespro, "The Kamen Rider set was really busy. The salary was 50,000 yen and after taxes, was approximately 45,000 yen. Because I lived with my parents, I did not receive extra for rent or meals. I couldn’t live off of the amount I received or pay for my own meals. I think I received around 50,000 yen a month until mid-2014."
Later, Yoshiko announced her retiremnet from Lespro on February 11 of 2017 and decide to join Happy Science and write a book.
SMAP's Takuya Kimura also suffered this treatment from his job and had to hire the help of a lawyer, in which he won the case, to negotiate his contract and was later given a raise and was treated fairly and better by his company.

Isn't the point of the low payment equal to the level of exposure? Being in 50ish episodes throughout the year and some movie screen time is great exposure to be picked up for a better job down the line. Given the choice, many people would take a 50000 yen monthly paycheck for the exposure to go onto different projects after
that's sad
45,000 yen? Almost a wage slavery.
yeesh that's a tiny amount, that's about 467 or so USD. i can't imagine budgeting off that small of an amount... even with parents handling the majority share of food and housing, hell i pay about $400 rent alone.
