Singing group Junretsu is set to star in their very own tokusatsu film!
The movie, with the title "Super Sentou Junretsuger", is produced by Toei Video, will involve Junretsu transforming into superheroes, hot springs, and of course, singing.
With the exception of Shouta Gougami (Jungreen), all members of Junretsu are actually Toei tokusatsu veterans, and their suits are also callbacks to their original roles.
Yuujiro Shirakawa (Junred) played Ikkou/Kabutoraiger in Hurricanger, Ryohei Odai (Junblue) was Shuichi Kitaoka/Kamen Rider Zolda in Kamen Rider Ryuki, and Kazuyoshi Sakai portrayed Sotaro Ushigome/Gaoblack in Gaoranger.
The movie will be directed by Hiroshi Butsuda, who has directed several Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, and Metal Hero shows.
The film's theme song "NEW YORK", is a pun on the word "nyuuyoku", which means bathing, given the theme of hot springs in the movie.
Junretsuger is set to release in fall 2021.
